Quad Kids. On Friday a group of 20 Year 6 children took part in the Quad Kids event.

Year 5. In DT and Art the children have designed and created phone cases and rainforest dioramas.

Year 4 have learnt about Claude Monet and designed the Japanese Footbridge using watercolours

Year 6. The children folded and cut pieces of paper to create their own Tudor Roses.

Year 1 have created these magnificent castles! They have battlements, turrets and a working drawbridge.

In geography Y3 have looked at the countries, counties and cities of the UK and used atlases to locate them

The Robins class have been busy creative independent mermaid pictures and playing the race to 20 game with the large tens frame

The OSC have been very busy planting seeds and creating bridges made from spaghetti

Coronation – We had a fantastic coronation performance by a group of children who acted out each part of the ceremony as well as a performance from the Makaton Choir. Well done to all those involved, you all worked so hard preparing for it.

Year 3. We have made Maya masks in our Art and DT lessons which link to our history learning about Ancient Maya. We decided if we wanted to make an event or death mask and then sketched out a few designs before our final design which we painted.

Year 1: We celebrated a wedding in Year 1. We all chose what roles we wanted and the vicar from Holy Trinity came to help us. We all looked wonderful and had a fabulous time.

The Preschool children have been busy creating pictures to celebrate the Coronation ready for the Coates Summer Fete.

Preschool: Sand castle fun today

Preschool: Today the children took part in lots of activities themed around the king’s coronation. They painted flags, made crowns, coloured pictures, played with the small world castle and used small Union Jack flags to decorate their sand castles.

Year 4 Art: William Morris inspired textiles, focusing on creating a repeating pattern using natural materials.

Year 4 Art: We created a mountain scene using water paints, we were focusing on making the designs 3D, focusing on the scale and proportion of the mountains. The children focused on shading techniques using art pencils in their sketchbooks before completing their final piece.
