@luckyca66355138 @CobieAnderson @BonesawMD Bro tried to justify lateness with 'oh I'm always late, but I'm intelligent so it doesn't matter'
Major dumb ASSSSS
English

Once you understand the internal state of those who are consistently late to things you no longer feel anger towards them.
The idea that it's because they're being 'selfish' is one of those boomer clock slave beliefs – Embarrassingly poor theory of mind.
Jason Pargin, author of John Dies at the End, etc@JasonKPargin
My most uncharitable belief is that if you're chronically late to things, you're just a bad person. And I mean I don't think it's possible to routinely be late to events/work/appointments *unless* you're just a selfish person with no concern for anyone else.
English

@APLeDeluge @luckyca66355138 @BonesawMD had invested my 30 minutes a month elsewhere than in a relationship. It’s just a poor assumption and argument to assume you will 1000 percent of the time use that 10 minutes meaningfully more valuably.
English

@APLeDeluge @luckyca66355138 @BonesawMD Your was a pretty general “your” in this case. So not necesarily his time specifically.
Let’s just say per month this guy waits 30 minutes for a friend, or for a boss at his job per month. That’s well worth it imo, and not wasted time.
In 50 years will he say man I wish I
English

@luckyca66355138 @BonesawMD My mom just is, so we all work around it and it’s totally fine. 10 percent of the time it’s inconvenient and frustrating.
But I have things like that to others so you have grace and move on.
My dad encourages her to make changes to improve and she has, but change takes time.
English

@jailwifejesus @bu99s @Dickfarmdunnz Dang, wasn’t expecting you to hit the worthless loser spot so accurately for me
English

@CobieAnderson @bu99s @Dickfarmdunnz Honestly that was meant for another guy who blocked me like a coward before I could send it. I liked how it came out and you are all worthless losers for whom my precious time will not be used in vain, so I didn’t let it go to waste. If the glove fits🤷🏻♂️
Or is it “the shoe”? hehe
English

@luckyca66355138 @BonesawMD Tbh, your time is less valuable than you think it is. If I have to wait 10 minutes for a friend 30-50 percent of the time… It just doesn’t matter. Who cares? So weird.
English

@BonesawMD Not stressed in the slightest nor resentful. Just letting you know that many humans value their time and don't tolerate bullshit rationalizations from people who don't value theirs.
English

@onrebrofo @JasonHarmon2 @lakelikeglass19 @TheDrRansom @JasonKPargin Being on time is absolutely courteous, but sometimes something is absolutely more important and requires being late for and to not capture that nuance is probably poor.
English

@JasonHarmon2 @lakelikeglass19 @CobieAnderson @TheDrRansom @JasonKPargin 99.99% of "being late" isn't "being late for something that cannot happen without your presence."
English

@bluebirdia2 @JasonHarmon2 @TheDrRansom @JasonKPargin Just sort of weird to be this confident about something that is incredibly not black and white at all
English

@CobieAnderson @JasonHarmon2 @TheDrRansom @JasonKPargin True and this guy is so selfish he cannot fathom anything beyond his own ego.
English

@JasonHarmon2 @lakelikeglass19 @TheDrRansom @JasonKPargin What’s your definition of selfish? If something is selfish is it 100 percent selfish? Or if it’s 50 percent selfish and the other reasons are less than 50 percent selfish it’s still selfish?
English

@lakelikeglass19 @CobieAnderson @TheDrRansom @JasonKPargin Making everyone else wait for you is selfish regardless of the reason.
English

@JasonHarmon2 @TheDrRansom @JasonKPargin Nah he’s right. He’s annoyed he has to wait 5 extra minutes, so really his beef is at the inconvenience it causes himself, which is inherently selfish.
Earliness is not a virtue, it’s good, but not a virtue.
Being late is a bad quality, sometimes selfish. Sometimes not.
English

@TheDrRansom @JasonKPargin No you’re overthinking it by half. It’s selfishness.
English

@jailwifejesus @bu99s @Dickfarmdunnz I don’t think anyone is upset by your comment, just giving his opinion. As you did. That’s all.
English

@bu99s @Dickfarmdunnz Look man, I get this can be upsetting. I know reality is unsettling for you, but for your sake you need to accept that there are people who are just different from you, and who just genuinely don't enjoy your lame, boring, unfunny faggot interests
God bless, I wish you growth
English

@DylanSWEET0rhp @jayhaykid Fwiw their peaks are basically equal, so I guess I’m more fine with it as a holistic opinion than not. But in their peaks, Ram was better than Arenado in 4 of those years and Arenado was in 3 and that’s why I’d take Ram. Obviously close. Both incredible players.
English

@DylanSWEET0rhp @jayhaykid It comes down to this, you think that defense is closer to equal in value as offense.
I don’t.
Along with most of baseball.
English

This is gonna be a tough look for you.

@jayhaykid @DCHard21 Do I need to show every single year’s fWAR standings and show he’s clearly outside of the upper echelon most years, if not every year? Because I can but that seems like a waste of time He’s consistently in that 2nd tier of very good players that clearly aren’t in MVP talks
English

@DylanSWEET0rhp @jayhaykid Got it, okay yeah that’s also an easy prove incorrect as well. I mean he was better than Arenado in ‘17, ‘18, ‘20, and ‘21 and wasn’t really close. Arenado beat him handily in ‘19 and ‘22.
English

@CobieAnderson @jayhaykid The guy said he has been the best and started saying he was the best in 2017 I said he wasn’t the best till after 2022. You don’t even understand the argument anymore
English

@DylanSWEET0rhp @jayhaykid I see what you’re saying. We can compare batting average. It’s just not an accurate stat to evaluate hitting off of so it’s not relevant in the discussion. It is what it is.
English

@DylanSWEET0rhp @jayhaykid … indeed the last 3 years matter for Arenado. If you want to talk peaks that’d be interesting. I’m not sure what my answer would be.
English

@DylanSWEET0rhp @jayhaykid Can’t be using batting average to compare. It’s an incredibly unimportant stat to evaluate players on. Multiple papers and research on this, sorry.
Since 2017 Ramirez has been exactly 19 percent better than Arenado in the field. And also since we’ve been discussing since 2017
English

@DylanSWEET0rhp @jayhaykid Also if you use gold gloves as the first reason for why Arenado has a better glove, I guess I don’t know what to say.
Say it with me though. Awards don’t matter as a comparison if there are awards given to both leagues and the players are in different leagues.
English

@DylanSWEET0rhp @jayhaykid I still think it’s important while still thinking you’re overrating it.
Goodness.
