Finally looks like Cricket weather this morning! Both teams up against Raby Castle this afternoon with the 2nds at home and the 1sts travelling to Raby.

We’d like to thank @ScreentechNE for sponsoring the Man of the Match award, this week it goes to Steve Lethbridge for his 63 not out. The Fielding award goes to Dave Robinson for an athletic one handed finger tip catch that would have gone viral had it been caught on camera!

After losing the toss we were put in to bat and made a decent 188/7 on a difficult wicket. Steve Lethbridge 63no and Reece Hughes with 43. In reply Cliffe were bowled out for 140. 3 wickets each for Matty Collins and Graeme Stansfield.

Well after the first week of the season was a complete wash out we finally managed some Cricket this weekend. With the firsts game v Middleton Tyas off as the ground was unfit it was down to the seconds to bring home the 20 points with a win over Cliffe. Seconds.

The 2nds @ScreentechNE Man of the Match Award goes to @GJ_STANSFIELD after taking 4 wickets for 22 runs with the ball and making 71 not out with bat. Rohit Chaturvedi takes the Fielder award after taking 3 catches and barley making a mistake as stand in Wicket Keeper!

The @ScreentechNE Man of the Match award for the 1sts win at East Cowton goes to Dan Black for an excellent 86 runs to set up the victory. 2 cracking run outs from @ant8t8 bags Antony Rawlings the Fielding Award.

Great day yesterday as the 1sts secured A Division Cricket next season with an excellent run chase at East Cowton. Chasing down 259 we did so with the loss of just 5 wickets. And the 2nds restricted Etherley to 127/8 which we again chased down for the loss of just 2 wickets.

Bit of a damp start to the day for a change but forecast is better this afternoon so hopefully both games will go ahead. 1sts host the mighty Haughton and the 2nds travel to Etherley.

Holiday season strikes but Cockerton still get 2 sides out for todays games. 1sts travel to @CliffeCC while the 2nds host King James.

The 1sts are back at Newton Lane today looking to get back to winning ways against Raby Castle 1sts. The 2nds travel to Barton looking to bounce back after a midweek Cup defeat and extend their winning League run to 11 games.

Couple of big games today with the 1sts travelling to Barningham with only the odd point separating them in the league. The 2nds are at home v @middleton_club in a top of the table clash. Let’s hope the weather behaves and we get the games on!

Defeat to @haughton_cc in last nights cup game. A decent start made at 70/3 but then following a rain delay collapsed to 76 all out. Only @ant8t8 (21) and @GJ_STANSFIELD (23) with scores of note. Haughton rattled off the score in about 9 overs for 2 wickets.

Weather permitting Cockerton take on @haughton_cc tonight in the Sir Murrough Wilson Cup at Newton Lane.

The 2nds @ScreentechNE man of the match award goes to @matthew_bartram for a game changing 10 overs with figures of 4/42 including that of the dangerous Ryan Menforth for 59 he looked in good form. @girdlestone15 takes the fielding award for his nonstop work in the field.

The 2nds gave an impressive performance against King James, we posted 244/6 with @GJ_STANSFIELD top scorer (89) and an unbeaten 57 from Ian Rawlings. Despite a couple of early wickets KJ threatened our total but @matthew_bartram took 4 wickets to help seal the victory!

The @ScreentechNE man of the match award for the 1sts defeat at Raby Castle goes to Will Hopkins for his 49 runs and taking a catch in the field. Andrew Gordon takes the fielding award for fine work through the Raby innings.

Raby made a good start and at 133/2 looked like a big score was on the cards but our bowlers hit back and reduced Raby to 186 all out. I reply Will 49 and Sy 41 got us close but Raby were just out of reach as we finished 177/8 from our 40 overs.

Two cracking games yesterday from our teams. The 1sts almost pulling of a surprise at second placed Raby Castle but falling just 9 runs short while the 2nds Made it 9 out of 10 with a 79 run victory over King James at Newton Lane.
