Stockmen/women everywhere, bloody ridiculous actions. The NFU, should have run it over a third and forth time just to be sure. BBC News - Police who hit cow 'probably right', says farmer bbc.com/news/articles/…

Ineos Grenadier… anyone got one? Wonder if it would stand up to the Highland Agri treatment? 😂 maybe easier to get my hands on and cheaper to run than a V8 Landcruiser Ute…

Scotland to lose all three matches without scoring a goal, 30-1. A pessimist is just an optimist with experience. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@EdinvaleFarm @ClynelishFarm Very true, and I have no argument there! Used to work in the lairage at Orkney Meat and it always amazed me how many beasts used to come in with one lovely shiny new tag and one old one, no point sticking it in until they go I guess they'll only likely lose it again 😇😇😇

@CockoftheBen @ClynelishFarm As much as we don't like them, inspections at the moment are necessary because we have a poor technology to ensure traceability. But I maintain my original point that an animal doesn't become more traceable at the point of slaughter because it has two tags

Rant Time - Ear Tags!! 🧵 What the hell is the cost to our industry of fecking lost bits of yellow plastic. These £3 compulsory tags are the bain of my bloody life.

@EdinvaleFarm @ClynelishFarm In terms of maintaining confidence in traceability across the board, would instances of wrongly or miss identified animals entering the food chain decrease if you removed the requirement and the threat of inspection? The regs are generally OTT simply for that reason surely?🤷

@ClynelishFarm @CockoftheBen I would argue that happens anyway and you always run the risk of falling foul of an inspection. I just fail to see why a beast should be held back because there hasn't been enough time to get a replacement tag.

Nothing gives me more pleasure than the exasperation in folks voice when I come up with another glorious way to cut corners thus saving time and money with a managed risk to the chance of success 😇😇😇 It's hard being a true visionary 🤗

@EdinvaleFarm @ClynelishFarm Say you buy in and finish 100's of stores each year, derogation for one tag to slaughter so why bother replacing a lost tag if they're going to be twitching on a hook in a month or two? Then a few lose the second tag as well, now you have 100% unidentifiable animals...🤷

@ClynelishFarm I actually have no problem for a requirement for double tags. Single tag, microchip in the lug or somewhere else that isn't going to cause a problem with meat integrity ideal. Option of a management tag if you want. Double tag for slaughter though is ridiculous.

@grave66306 The workshop is just full of fledglings that have crawled along under the roof joists, judging by the smell I've not managed to find all of them alive 🙄🙄🙄

Has anybody ever seen a Starling nesting anywhere other than a man made structure? Where did they nest before the age of construction?! I know we're meant to appreciate all of nature's wonders but these noisy, dirty, argumentative, shitty little darlings do make it hard...
