Source: Blundell recently confirmed it during JC's Der Riese stream.
This is something that has been long theorized stretching way back to the days of the old Activision forum, and in more recent years by people such as @TheGamingRevo3.
Neat to finally see confirmation!

@ml61297 It's a scrapped Jimmy Z plot thread; here's a video TGR did explaining it: youtu.be/aeRKYYFm_UY

@CodLoreFacts Is there a lore reason why earth looks like pangea in the moon ee?

The reason the Earth's destruction severely weakens Ultimis Richtofen's control over the Aether is due to it causing a massive rift in space-time.
You may be familiar with whenever Richtofen speaks of "mending the Rift", or whenever Victis directly point out the Rift as the massive hole in the mantle at the start of Buried.
What exactly the Rift is can be gleaned in quotes throughout Black Ops 2 zombies, and later a radio in Tag Der Toten which gives even more context.
Essentially all objects both animate and inanimate contain some trace amount of 115 (the innate energy produced by the Aether). The denser the object, the more 115 there within.
Whenever Maxis destroys the Earth in bo1, such enormous amounts of Aetheric energy spilled out that it damaged the fabric of reality. It is this very same energy that you channel through the Towers in bo2 for either Richtofen or Maxis.
At the end of Buried, Maxis successfully harnesses this energy via manipulating Victis across each map in order to reach Agartha. Maxis effectively does the opposite of mending the rift, instead using it to COMPLETELY destroy the Earth after the events of Buried.

Dr. Oskar Strauss has a very long, storied career. Born on May 19th, 1918 in Germany. After finishing university in 1943, Strauss was recruited by the Uranverein.
He was promised an opportunity to explore a new frontier of atomic research with Projekt Endstation; however, wanting to improve humanity rather than destroy it, he promptly requested transfer once he found out Endstation's mission statement.
Unfortunately, this only led to him being transferred to a much nastier Projekt. One headed by Dr. Friedrich Steiner working on Nova 6.
During his time working for the Third Reich, Strauss personally knew scientists who were developing exotic weapons such as the Haunebu II Flying Saucer, and even the infamous Die Glocke; a multiversal version of which can be seen in Totenreich in Black Ops 7 Zombies!
After the end of World War II, Strauss defected to the United States during Operation Paperclip. He would then find work under DARPA before eventually joining Requiem in 1983. The rest is history!

PSA for the account: The images I'm attaching to my main lore tweets were made using a combination of Photoshop, and Da-Vinci Resolve.
I plan on making these for most of my tweets as a way of visually conveying zombies lore that has mostly only existed in text, or audio format.
Also because I think its fun to make them : )

[Aether] [Official Canon]
The Summoning Key, also known as the Astoth Arbzorark (All-Key in Apothicon) is the single oldest artifact in all the Aether.
According to the Kronorium it was created by a being known only as "The First One", and subsequently used to fill each dimension with a unique mix of life.
Under certain circumstances, it has the ability to form bridges between dimensions allowing the transfer of life forces back and forth.

[Aether] [Official Canon]
The MPD (Moon Pyramid Device) is a device that grants its user ABSOLUTE POWER over the Aether. It can be seen as a corrupted mirror of sorts to the Summoning Key, as both fulfil very similar functions, just albeit using different sources of power.
The MPD was created by a sect of Keepers that became corrupted after experimenting with the Dark Aether; this corruption drove a schism between the Keepers, leading to a war between them.
Towards the end of this war, facing defeat, the corrupted Keepers hid the MPD away on Earth's moon within the Dimension Ultimis are from: awaiting the day humanity would discover it.

@DingyDongy79349 @carbonkiller9 @NGCavangelion @VonListVanguard They show 115 deposits on the surface of the moon in Der Riese but nothing about the MPD
English

@CodLoreFacts @carbonkiller9 @NGCavangelion @VonListVanguard I forget, did they also explicitly talk about the MPD on moon in Der reise too? I could have sworn they did but im unsure.
English

@carbonkiller9 @NGCavangelion @VonListVanguard As far as I remember this is the first vril mention, introduced in Der Riese. Alien stuff in general though would be Shi No Numa as 115 is taken directly from the stories of Bob Lazar in the late 80's. x.com/CodLoreFacts/s…
Cod Lore Facts@CodLoreFacts
There's a Vril UFO depicted on Der Riese.
English

@NGCavangelion @VonListVanguard Are you calling black ops 1 the origins of the zombies storyline? Genuinely asking; im well aware of the Vrils existence Call of the dead is my favourite map and the VR11 and main EE are all evidence of 'aliens' however prior to this are aliens ever mentioned? Like World at war?
