That camera button is one of the most over-engineered buttons in history. And I’m here for it! 😎 #AppleEvent

@krzyzanowskim Yes. I’m having a hard time agreeing that 10% thinner is “radically” thinner

So pleased with this small change in WatchOS 11 beta. I can finally - FINALLY - read the segment number at a glance even when working hard 😎 Man I hope they stick with this 👍🏻 #watchos11 #apple

Bought myself a new kitchen clock as a treat. Apparently my family are Philistines because they don’t appreciate the importance of this design, so I’m sharing this with you, my fellow geeks 🙂

Great way to start the week. I have come a long way since I learned to swim 3 years ago. You are never too old to learn anything whether that be coding or swimming.

@twostraws It probably bothers me more than it should that they’re using Pascal case here 😬

Used some AI technology to clean up a very grainy old B & W image of myself from 1972. This is actually a very accurate representation what I looked like back then.

@dsteppenbeck Very nice. The ObservableUserDefault really blurs the line between macros and property wrappers, eh?

I've been playing around with Swift macros these last couple of weeks and have created some packages to share in case anyone finds them useful 1. @EnumIdentifiable enum Fruit { ... } An attached macro for enum that gives you the following code: extension Fruit: Identifiable { var id: Fruit { return self } } GitHub package: github.com/davidsteppenbe… ----- 2. @EnumCasePropertyGenerator enum Fruit { ... } An attached macro for enum that gives you the following computed properties: @EnumCasePropertyGenerator enum Fruit { case apple, banana var isApple: Bool { return self == .apple } var isBanana: Bool { return self == .banana } } GitHub package: github.com/davidsteppenbe… ----- 3. @ObservableUserDefault An attached macro for properties in @Observable classes (already posted about this, pls check my timeline for more info). Turns "stored" properties into computed ones that read and write to UserDefaults: For example, this code: @Observable class StorageModel { @ObservableUserDefault @ObservationIgnored var name: String } Expands to give this code: @Observable class StorageModel { var name: String { get { access(keyPath: \.name) return UserDefaults.name } set { withMutation(keyPath: \.name) { UserDefaults.name = newValue } } } } GitHub package: github.com/davidsteppenbe… ----- 4. #URL("https://...") A freestanding macro that checks the validity of the string literal and provides an unwrapped Foundation URL, i.e., URL(string: "https://...")! GitHub package: github.com/davidsteppenbe… All credit to Antoine @twannl for this one. Learn much more about macros from his blog posts: avanderlee.com/swift/macros
