A man reportedly divorced his wife after she was kidnapped.
According to the story, the man had traveled abroad and left two cars for his wife in Nigeria. He specifically told her not to drive the bigger car, an SUV, and to use the other one instead.
One day, the woman decided to use the SUV to attend a friend’s birthday party. On her way back home, she was kidnapped.
When the kidnappers contacted her husband and demanded ransom, he reportedly refused to pay at first. The woman spent about two weeks in captivity before the man eventually paid ₦5 million for her release after much pleading.
After she returned home, the husband reportedly told her he no longer wanted to remain married. When his in-laws asked why, he said she disobeyed his instruction by driving the car he told her not to use. He also claimed he could not stop thinking about what might have happened to her while she was with the kidnappers.
According to the story, those were the reasons he gave for ending the marriage, and the relationship was eventually dissolved.
