if your gear got stolen today what would you actually need to prove it’s yours? serial numbers? receipts? something else? #photography#cameragear
built an app called GearVault (flutter + sqlite)
it lets photographers track gear, serial numbers, receipts all in one place
useful if anything gets lost or stolen
looking for testers (android APK)

@viberankdev Appericate it i will definitely check out viberankdev too i am trying to find real photographers that is willing to test out the APK to test it early
@CodesKr1 tracking expensive gear is such a smart niche. The peace of mind for photographers is huge. If you are looking for more Android testers, viberankdev could be a good place to list it.
Your camera gear can disappear in seconds
proving you owned it is the hard part
building Gear Vault to fix that
looking for Android testers 📷

@jasper_yy Appreciate that, that’s exactly what I’m focusing on right now
making sure the PDF is actually solid when it matters
next iteration should be cleaner for sure
@CodesKr1 Refining Android first makes sense to nail the core workflow.
High-value, low-frequency tools live or die by the output quality. If that PDF is solid, the platform won't matter as much.
Ready to see how you handle the next iteration.
Looking for a few Android testers for an app I built: Gear Vault
Helps photographers document gear for insurance (serials, receipts, PDF export)
Reply if you want the APK 👍

@jasper_yy Appreciate that a lot 🙏
That’s exactly what I was aiming for something you actually use when it matters Focusing on refining the Android version first, then expanding to iOS/desktop I’ll be sharing updates as I improve it would love to keep you in the loop
@CodesKr1 "Using it when it matters" is the highest bar for any tool.
I’m on iOS/Desktop, but I’d love to follow the beta progress! Even without the app, that insurance-ready PDF concept is a masterclass in solving a real "pain point" vs. just a "nice-to-have."
Keep pushing!
@the_vibepreneur Appreciate that yeah I’ve been testing the Reddit angle definitely seeing how real the problem is there
Product Hunt is a good call too once it’s a bit more polished
@CodesKr1 Cool app idea! For finding testers, try posting in r/photography and r/AskPhotography on Reddit — photographers there would love this for insurance docs. Also consider listing on Product Hunt when you're ready 🚀
Photographers don’t realize they need gear documentation… until it’s gone.
I built an app to track gear + export insurance-ready PDFs.
Need Android testers.

@jasper_yy Appreciate that 🙏 that’s exactly the idea making it something you can actually use when it matters
I’m running a small Android beta right now if you want to try it
@CodesKr1 Photographers definitely need this. The "PDF export for insurance" feature is a massive peace of mind.
Building for a specific niche like this is the way to go. Hope the beta testing gives you some killer feedback!
Separate tracking per item + receipt photos in the PDF — that's exactly what an insurer needs. Clean report format is the key differentiator from just using Notes.
I can't test Android but your target user is clear: the photographer who just bought their first L-lens and realized they have no documentation. That's your marketing angle.
@RONiNmedia000 Yeah each item is tracked separately (bodies, lenses, etc.)
And the PDF is designed as a clean insurance-style report with all details + receipt photos. I’m still refining the layout a bit.
Happy to send it if you want to check it out 👍
Gear insurance documentation is an underserved problem — most photographers realize they need this only after they've already lost gear.
Two questions from a non-photographer: Does it handle multiple bodies + lenses separately? And does the PDF export look professional enough to actually submit to an insurer?
Built Gear Vault, an offline app that helps photographers document their gear for insurance.
Serial numbers, receipts, warranty tracking, and exportable PDF reports.
Looking for Android testers
