#SaukValley Irish fact: St. Flannen Catholic Church in Harmon (in Lee County) is the only one with that name in the nation. It is named for St. FlannAn, a 7th century Irish preacher. Lee County's Irish immigrants simply guessed on the saint's spelling when they named this church.

Fowler is a former Sterling Blue Coats minor league player, 1890. Team from the Illinois-Iowa League began season in Sterling, moved to Galesburg and then Burlington at year's end. Sterling played its games at the town fairgrounds, south of present-day Kilgour Park. #LocalHistory

@HeyItsGregA Me too. Ultimately, it's the opinion of the majority of the kids that matters most. They'll love & enjoy their experiences no matter what, unless we adults shove whatever we believe is negative, or an alternate scenario, down their throats to sway their opinion. Let's let it be.
