Our final two Young Ophthalmologist sessions at the World Ophthalmology Congress!

I got to Chair an informative session on cataract surgery for the Young Ophthalmologist with Dr. Haotian Lin (China) at the World Ophthalmology Congress. Thank you to Drs. Jet Rayel (Philippines) and Bhavik Panchal (India) for sharing some great pearls!

Great first day at the World Ophthalmology Congress in Vancouver! Thank you to my co-panelists Drs. Femida Kherani and Carol Tadrous for putting together a great @CANeyeMDs symposium on cases for the Young Ophthalmologist!

Excited to be chairing one of the COS’ society sessions at the upcoming WOC!

A highlight of residency thus far was the recent opportunity to travel to Iqaluit and provide ophthalmic care! We were able to do a variety of in-office lasers, injections, and minor procedures. We also got some main OR time to do strabismus and lid based surgeries.

Check out our new case report highlighting a rare ocular manifestation as the sole presenting feature of a common childhood cancer. This case demonstrates the importance of neuroimaging in atypical cases of periorbital edema. karger.com/cop/article/15…

We also describe recent trends in the increasing use of oral doxycycline as a treatment in pediatric Lyme neuroborreliosis as opposed to IV medications.
