NVIDIA just announced DLSS 5, which seems to generate AI images on top of upscaling, rather than just upscale what is already there as per all previous DLSS versions and this looks... not good. It is heavily leaning into AI slop, Grace looks like a completely different person.

YoshiP saved the game and led it to it's golden era.
But he's not the right person at this point of the games life. New leadership that can manage the needs of the community is needed. With him splitting time on different projects it would be the perfect to uplift new talent.

@aetherpactcatte I 'snuck' onto Balmung back at the very start of Heavensward and it was magical. It felt like THE RP world and hub. And if you had a bad reputation then the whole community knew.
Now it's essentially a ERP tourist destination and it breaks my heart that I don't recognize anyone.

@Coffee_Roe I was just telling my rp partner that I miss when Crystal was more rp friendly. I remember feeling like the world was truly alive because I could walk around the city-states and see more open-world rp.

Even the FF RP scene is anti-social... I don't want to deal with mods as a requirement. I don't want to deal with venues or ERP alts or clubs.
Server travel has done so much damage to the social aspects of the game that I had to get off Balmung because it had become so bad.

FFXIV is easily the most antisocial MMORPG game I've played and no I do not want to walk in a venue neither RP to actually talk with people. This game level of antisocial and lack of player interaction is so bad it's crazy, only Eureka actually managed to connect players..
