I am introducing a Constitutional Amendment to end Birthright Citizenship. Under current interpretations of American law, anyone born on American soil automatically becomes a U.S. citizen, regardless of whether the parent was here legally or not.  This is wrong and not at all the intent of those who wrote the 14th Amendment.  We are a country filled with immigrants, and legal immigration is valuable and should be protected. But we are also a country whose borders have been too open and our generosity exploited too often. President Trump has moved to seal our border from illegal immigrants more than any other president.   But we will have more to do. We need to make sure that only children born to legal residents of the U.S. are automatically citizens. I have supported protecting birthright citizenship from abuse since the beginning of my tenure in the Senate, when I cosponsored the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2011, and now I am proposing an amendment to protect United States citizenship in case the Supreme Court fails to address this issue correctly.

One of the worst things about our current immigration nightmare—and one that often goes unmentioned—is the fact that: NO ONE VOTED FOR THIS. Seriously. Not one American—Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, etc—ever voted for this. Because no elected official ever ran on a “We are going to let 100 million+ immigrants into the country” platform. They just did it anyway, once in power, without the consent of the governed.

I voted to extend TPS for Haitians because I cannot, in good conscience, send people who were lawfully granted protection here, followed our laws, and built lives under our rules back to rape, murder, and chaos in a lawless Haiti. This is completely separate from amnesty or illegal immigration. Conflating the two is dangerous.

This is how to fix voting in a constitutional republic: 1. Only those in mandatory selective service get to vote 2. Pass the SAVE Act and ensure only legal citizens are voting 3. Have at least three years of gainful employment and are currently paying taxes 4. One vote per household, the standard throughout most of human history Those who only stand to gain will always vote for more gain.

@DeaceProducer The Save Act is proof that Republicans want to lose and be the minority party forever because then they can just gripe and complain and make a lot of money without ever doing anything. If they actually passed the Save Act they might actually win MORE and then lose their grift.

@TinashePeter_ 5/ Literally just read your Bible. It’s not replacement theology. Gentiles are you”grafted in” the Olive Tree of the people of God (Ro 11). Christ is the true Israel. He is the fulfillment. All those who are in Him belong to Israel.

Replacement Theology is not only EVIL, It's also woefully stupid. I do not understand how someone who claims to read the Scriptures would end up at such an erroneous conclusion. If you believe that YHWH would do away with Israel after thousands of years of histroy, Why would you hold on to the promises He made to you as a believer? When you deny God's everlasting covenant with His "firstborn," you deny the very Word of God.
