Many will not like reading this, but it's a fact. Having served 4 years on the Education Committee in the Virginia House of Delegates, I can tell you that there is no school district in the Commonwealth, no matter how rural or conservative, that Democrats are not trying to mandate indoctrination that runs contrary to your principles. Thats not hyperbolic, it's reality. They don't call it indoctrination, because they don't see it that way. They see it as correcting the mistakes of your parenting, which in their view is not "progressive or tolerant" enough. And since they don't have enough of their own kids to win elections, they need yours to "think correctly" about these things before they reach voting age. So in their view this is essential to "preserve our democracy." Make sense now? Now someone will read this and ask me "why didn't you fix it?" And the answer is simple...because we never had sufficient votes to get the legislation passed. It wasn't for lack of submitting bills and fighting for them, not a single Democrat would vote for any of it and as long as they controlled just one part of the legislative process they could prevent all of it, because thats how the system works. In my entire 10 years in the General Assembly there wasn't a single year where they didn't at least control one part of the process. But now nothing is preventing them...because they have the votes and they control the entire process.

It's a valid question. Not trying to be snarky or attack you. But you're holding your credential up as a qualifier of your authority in this area. I do not have that credential. What did you learn that would indicate why I should listen to you in your claims that what Elon states here is false when your statement conflicts with my observation of objective reality that what he says is true? Is it just that you spent the money for the piece of paper? What did you learn?

Because someone will make this point - I don’t remember exactly where the WW2 vet fought - but it was against the Japanese, not in Japan because the US never invaded the main island. His story centered around an attack they were planning. I distinctly remember him saying guys who were alive 5 minutes before he then saw dead. This makes an impression on a kid who is 11 or 12.

I had a male teacher for grades 5 and 6 who was highly eccentric (and not gay - he was a family man without a whiff of scandal). He had old printing presses in the classroom and we learned about how books and newspapers were printed - by printing our own pages with movable type we set ourselves. He showed us violent war movies. He had WW2 and Vietnam veterans come in and give graphic talks. One guy talked about his baptism of fire in Japan - he said something like ‘I jumped into the foxhole and killed two Japs with my pistol - I’m glad I bought that pistol off a guy before the fight because I might not be here if I hadn’t.’ The teacher would tells us the casualty figures of WW1 and 2 and sometimes start crying. He also taught us chess, and he spotted kids who were good in math. He gave me math problems well in advance of 6th grade, and ensured I was pushed up a level in middle school. He was tolerant of wild boy behavior - including boys throwing things at each other across the classroom. Only a few years later I heard he had to stop showing the war movies, the veterans weren’t allowed to give talks. He retired shortly thereafter - he was getting old anyway. But this kind of man used to teach elementary school. I don’t know why he wanted to do it - but he was good at it. And I don’t think there are many like him in public schools now - and that isn’t good for boys.

Here's the concept: If the EU regulates American companies, America should threaten to ban European companies that have nothing to do with the dispute. Spotify makes music apps. DHL delivers packages. They're now pawns in a tech regulation fight. Some call this "disproportionate retaliation." I call it Hardware Equity. You see, an expert suggested the EU could burst America's AI bubble. 92% of US GDP growth is AI investment. That's not a risk. That's an opportunity. If the bubble bursts, everyone's pension fund explodes. But here's what Zootopia taught me: The small animals survive. The big ones fall. JD Vance called the fine "censorship." He was right.
