The IPSWA announced its girls' basketball all-state teams this morning. 3A Colette Loges, Forest City 2nd Bethany Warren, Forest City 3rd 2A Cora Sauer, Lake Mills 3rd Loges is now a 2x all-stater by the IPSWA. I believe Sauer is the first IPSWA All-Stater for Lake Mills since her coach, Beth (Skogen) Van Roekel, was selected in 1997.

Here are a couple of FC Girls basketball notes heading into tomorrow: Last night was Colette's 94th game played in a Forest City uniform, which surpasses Emma Anderson's school record of 93 games played. She has 960 career points, eight points behind Brea Dillavou for fourth all-time. Earlier this season, she passed Amanda (Busta) Rosacker for most steals in a season (Busta) had 84 during the 2010-11 season. CO is at nearly 120 this season. She has also passed Crystal Anderson's school record of steals for a career. Crystal had 251 for her career; CO is nearing 320. Jenna Dontje has over 100 offensive rebounds this season; she is the only Indians GBB player to do that 5v5. The closest was 89 by Shae Dillavou in 2021-2022, who grabbed 89 offensive rebounds. She is also in reach of the school record for most total rebounds in a season, currently held by Shae, who grabbed 226 in the 2021-2022 season. As a team, before last year, no 5v5 Forest City team had scored more than 1,300 points in a season. Last year's team scored 1,503. This year's team is currently at 1488, so 15 points off that school record. They achieved 23 wins on Wednesday with the win over Waukon, the most a 5v5 or 6v6 GBB team at Forest City has ever had. They passed the 1974-1975 6v6 team that went 22-2 before falling one game short of state.

Colette Loges tied her career high with 31 points, breaking the Forest City school record for three-pointers in a game with 8, and the Indians beat Eagle Grove 70-22. She breaks Kendra Hanson's record of 7 3s, which she tied earlier this year and has stood for 20 years. #iahsbkb

Girls Final Forest City 67 North Iowa 34 Colette Loges scored 31 points, the most since Kaylee Miller scored 28 in 2019-2020. That's one point of Sara (Kingland) McCulloch's school record of 32. She had seven 3s, which ties Kendra Hanson’s school record. #iahsbkb
