The real question is: Why would they lie and why would the President lie? Which explanation holds up better under scrutiny?The truth is, if gas prices keep spiking, the President’s party is going to be in serious political trouble. Voters will punish Republicans at the ballot box if something isn’t done to bring prices down. I don’t know what gas and diesel cost in New York right now, but here in Chicago, prices have roughly doubled since the war began. That increase doesn’t just hit drivers it drives up the cost of everything that has to be shipped or delivered. Add in inflation ticking higher again, rising bond yields, and the ripple effects on the housing market, and there are a lot of moving parts at play. As for why Iran might lie: If you listen closely to what President Trump said, he was careful not to mention “government officials.” The people he spoke with were likely not part of the current regime possibly a faction hoping to overthrow it. That leaves a major gray area. Then there’s the decision to wait five days before any potential strike. That timing would put an attack on Iran’s power plants on a day when financial markets are closed another clue that his statement may have been intended, at least in part, to move the markets. At the end of the day, none of us know the full truth. All we can do is try to connect the dots with the information we have.

People in my comments are ripping me for saying the war may be nearing an end… It almost feels like some want it to continue. That’s the scary part. Too many people are stuck in a doom-scroll cycle—fed constant fear, outrage, and worst-case narratives until it becomes their baseline. At some point, you’re not informed… you’re conditioned.

Take a step back and think about what the actual objective of this war was in the first place. Was it regime change? Was it about securing Iran's oil rights? Was the goal to seize or eliminate their enriched uranium stockpile? Or were we essentially dragged in because Israel was going to strike Iran possibly with nuclear force regardless of what the US decided, leaving us no real choice but to get involved? There are a lot of questions here and very few straight answers. Depending on who you ask, you'll get a different justification every time. That alone should tell you something. Also we have more resources heading to the middle east. Boots on the ground soon. So.... I don't see this ending soon.

The future is AI folks. Like it or not it is coming and people need to level up before they are left behind.
