First year @SydneySOLES students found lots of terrific things while sorting inverts, but the gelastocorids were a major highlight for me. Too many toad bugs are never enough.

@Myrmecos I am always surprised at how well apart these maintain their larvae, while most ants just stack them. Would they eat each other otherwise?

@Myrmecos I think I can see a head on top with bead-shaped antennal segments and a well separated thorax. Could it be the pupa of a Diapriidae wasp? some of them parasitize Solenopsis in Europe, but I am not sure about Pheidole. The antennal segments just look slightly too big and round?
