I ruptured my Achilles 16 months ago. Had surgery. Missed 3 months of work. Had to relearn to walk and took me 9 months to be able to run properly again.
If that’s what has just happened to #Ekitike then my heart goes out to him. World Cup year, as well.

@RIC3_n_PEAs @NorthBankNadim Hey mate. Yeah it’s supposed to point downwards towards the floor, like on the right hand side of this photo. It helps the tendons come back together and heal easier. If your foot is like that then the cast should be fine

@CollJonno @NorthBankNadim Hey man, thanks for the advice! Quick question, was your foot pointed down when healing in the cast? I think the doctor has not done my cast the best way to heal the tendon 🫣

@RIC3_n_PEAs @NorthBankNadim Best advice I can give is not to rush back and do physio as often as you can do. Be firm with work so they know how serious it is. I rushed my first recovery and ended up setting myself back. Take it steady and good luck with the recovery 🫡

@RIC3_n_PEAs @NorthBankNadim Sorry to hear it mate. There isn’t much you can do in the first few weeks. Just need to accept it’s a slow recovery and follow the physio carefully when you get there.

@NorthBankNadim I have legit just ruptured my Achilles tendon 2 days ago playing football. Heard a loud pop and fell over when I pushed off my right foot. Doctor said 6 weeks but it was like 5am. Currently in a cast and using crutches. Work is a 45 min drive from me. Dunno what I’m going to do.
