Earlier this week, First Deputy Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Correction Nory Padilla attended the Parenting, Prison & Pups: Inside Out graduation. This course gives criminal justice students the opportunity to connect theory to real-world practice. For the residents, the program serves as a pet-therapy–assisted parenting class that helps strengthen parenting skills—an essential component of a successful return to the community. The combination of education, compassion and rehabilitation makes this program truly impactful. Westchester County remains committed to supporting initiatives that benefit both students and residents by promoting understanding, rehabilitation and successful reintegration into the community.
