@Ryushikaze @vinxmana She lived with them for roughly 10 issues before Belasco took her. wolverine had almost no interactions with her then she came back as a pretend which is too old for bedtime stories. It's not impossible but definitely weird

@CollinCall_in @vinxmana There were two periods where she was a child and lived at the X-mansion with everyone in 616 (One after her teenage years). It's entirely plausible he'd tell her stories during those times. And that's just main continuity, who knows how this one's life is different.

But I never understood why we don’t use the fullscreen for film on widescreen TVs.
The black bars made sense when it was widescreen on a 4:3 screen. Why is all that space unused for home releases?
Minus the few 4Ks that include imax switching.

@RedBoulderPunch It's takes a little bit but I actually really like superior too. It was harder back then because they killed Peter to tell the story but now that we're in status quo slop world I actually really respect the vision.

Pre-Superior ASM is actually pretty solid. The supporting cast still leaves a lot to be desired but the actual Spider-Man side of things was still at least pretty new and engaging. Spider-Island’s actually really fun and cool

@RedBoulderPunch Dan Slott took dog shit Paul Jenkins villain and made Spider-Island. Pre-2014 Dan Slott had that motion, that momentum of actually pushing Spider-man into fun direction that got lacking post Superior and everyone after him who tried "to fix" just made me groan of boredom.

Are we forgetting the fact this character was a cultural icon for decades before hand, nearly had a movie with Cameron directing it, and other household names?
The mascotification started in the 90s when they were trying to find ways to make him unmarried and youthful

Raimi's trilogy made Spider-Man go from "iconic comic character" to "household name movie character" that new name recognition is what made companies both want him for themselves, and to keep him as close to the movies for new people. Hence Peter's mascotification and stagnation

@LegoKingo It's not just sci-fi serials though westerns, period pieces, books, ect. One of his biggest inspirations was a film that was a montage of unused shots cut from a bunch of other films which in a sense is exactly what Star wars is

@LegoKingo Star wars was influenced by everything Lucas liked. Pod racing is from Ben hur, Yoda's death lost horizon, episode, episode 5 gone with the wind, episode 4 is hidden fortress (a ton of bits, shots ect. Taken from Akira Kurosawa.) he's open about his inspirations too.
