@ashnichrist @Dexerto @ekpodar As a 300K+ subs full time YouTuber I’ll take $1,000 a month for 3 months for reuploading shorts any day. Especially with all the clipping tools that exist.

@Dexerto @ekpodar lol that’s not even close to enough money for a well-monetized creators 100k+. Maybe worth it for entertainment channels who barely get views anymore? But then why pay for creators who can’t get attention to your platform?

@robertoblake “Success is getting what you want, happiness is wanting what you get”. -potentially Dale Carnegie. We also mentally assign labels of “good” and “bad” to events in our life. Our perception of events controls our emotions towards events which effects our happiness.

This might be the most important post I ever write. And I think I’ve struggled with this for years and I think this post will find you when you really need it. Happiness is too vague a word an we use it as a lazy catch all to mean some very specific things. I actually keep debating on “money can’t buy happiness” but I’ve settled on “Money Can’t Buy Happiness, Because Happiness Isn’t for Sale”. We want to use money as a tool: - remove financial stress - expand health options - get access to pleasure/dopamine - build security - eliminate threats - access experiences - feel general contentment/comfort You can have all of that and more and be wildly unhappy through no fault of your own, because you dog of 15 years died… You lost your parents… You lost the love of your life. Or you can have a traumatic experience that you just can’t seem to heal… (properly or quickly) Maybe there is even a God shaped hole in your heart that nothing seems to fill. If in chase happiness as if it something you can capture or sustain or if you believe that materialism or financial security should grant it to you… “You have all this, you should be a happy, you shouldn’t complain…” You’re just setting yourself up to abuse your mind and rob yourself of peace from a mental health standpoint. You need to accept that it’s okay to admit that you’re not okay… And that having more than someone else or plenty of options or security… doesn’t mean that you SHOULD be okay… If your scars are not as obvious to the naked eye, it doesn’t make them somehow less real, or less painful. So as I said… Money can’t buy happiness, it can provide a lot of wonderful things. But those things and options don’t cancel out the pain you might be feeling… Money can’t buy Happiness, because it can’t buy the love you might need to heal… The love that you might need to give yourself…

I watched this last night around 8pm. Dug an old laptop out of storage, set up a virtual server... After a long battle, had @openclaw up and running around 1am. This morning, I've been porting over context from my Claude Projects over into it and setting up automated workflows around new podcast transcripts, newsletter Broadcasts, my workout spreadsheet... I'm not sure if I'm more productive yet. I feel like I've been blacked out for the last 17 hours. But it feels like a step into the future, and an insane one at that.

So is this now acceptable disclosure for sponsorships? No need to verbally say "sponsored" and can just throw a hashtag up?

you're describing "Pascal’s Wager for Happiness." mathematically, the pessimist pays the "suffering tax" twice. once during the anticipation of the bad event, and again when the bad event actually happens. the optimist only pays the tax once (when the event happens). if the bad event doesn't happen, the pessimist suffered for nothing, while the optimist enjoyed the ride.

Actually it’s been a feature for well over a year!!! But people don’t know most of what the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program can do. I’m working on a video about it actually and I will be at YouTube HQ next week and incorporating some of my convo with them about monetization features into it.
