@DeltaPoliceNG PRESS RELEASE ARREST OF SUSPECTED CULTISTS, RECOVERY OF ONE PUMP ACTION GUN, FIVE LIVE CARTRIDGES, AND SUSPECTED ILLICIT DRUGS In a sustained effort to rid Delta State of cult-related violence and other criminal activities, operatives of the Command Anti-Cultism Unit (CACU), acting on credible intelligence, on 19 June 2026 at about 2345hrs, carried out a coordinated operation at a suspected criminal hideout in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area. The operation led to the arrest of two suspected cultists identified as Okonkwo Prosper (26) of Aniofu, Aniocha North Local Government Area, and Tuesday Emmanuel (25) of the same address. A search conducted during the operation resulted in the recovery of one English pump-action gun loaded with five live cartridges, one cutlass, charms, and substances suspected to be illicit drugs. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are alleged members of a cult group linked to several cult-related clashes in Ibusa and its environs. The suspects are in custody, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the criminal group. The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, reaffirmed the Command's commitment to the fight against cultism and other violent crimes across the State. He warned individuals involved in cult-related activities to renounce such acts or face the full weight of the law, while urging residents to continue partnering with the Police by providing timely and credible information that will aid crime-fighting efforts. Why did Dan Bello take down his tweet in which he accused Abdul-Azeez Yari of diverting FAAC funds? Did he realize he was wrong and that it is practically and technically impossible for anyone to divert FAAC funds? See, I’m all for calling out politicians who steal taxpayers’ money, but you can’t just come out and accuse someone of diverting public funds and then delete the post after realizing you’re wrong without issuing a public apology.
