@Colowicz @BrentToderian less than before?... ppl travel farther much less now than they ever did before?.... that makes no sense. the world perspective expands, not contracts. travelling several cities distance is more common now than it was years ago. cities are also much more populated now.

They say “We can’t do that. We’re not Amsterdam.” You respond “Amsterdam wasn’t always like that either,” showing before & after transformations illustrating that cities we admire made CHOICES. They make more tired excuses. Don’t accept them. (1e van der Helststraat, 1978 & 2005)

@sie_kensou77 @BrentToderian I don’t see why now more than before, now less than before should make more sense. But ppl can, there are many ways to get to this kind of places, cars are just not the most obvious choice

IDEA: Take a two-way street and make it a two-way bike lane.

Amsterdam’s Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal before and after. Cities can and should be bastions of green, not asphalt.
