They wanted to reap the benefits of connective universe storytelling, but didn’t understand the basics of why it was a success for the MCU. All they did was pander resulting in multiverse nonsense like this or Vulture getting sent to their universe.

@variablelace @thevenomsite I still believe there was no reason to have a scene like this if it wasn't specifically made to retcon the Symbiote being left behind in the MCU. Why include a different slice of the Venom Symbiote being left in a different bar? That makes no sense without some kinda of reason.

@torturedfuture @spuffyologies It certainly would’ve added more depth to Andrew and made him a good foil to Dawn even as although she’s not really Buffy’s sister, Buffy still loves her like one whereas Andrew’s blood brother doesn’t give a damn about him, only how he can be useful. (2/2)

i find it ironic when people (especially men) say they hate dawn for being "whiny". she's buffy if her girlhood had never been stolen from her but a lot of so called fans only enjoy her as the superhero/strong woman archetype and not as an actual person, hence the reaction to s6

@JoeGreenW @TheresaCampagna I mean that scene wasn’t written like an empowering moment. Heather hates vigilantes, so of course she’s not gonna credit him for saving her. It’s no different from Jameson being an ungrateful bastard no matter how often Spider-Man comes to his rescue.

@DanaTano501 @CraftyAdrian360 I'd say the issue was how the movie was making a point about how this is Gwen's life to live and her father and Peter had no right to act like they know what is for her own good only for the movie to kill her less than a few minutes after making that speech.

You guys have to understand the concept that movies can have well written and emotionally impactful scenes in isolation but those scenes are fundamentally ruined and or not supported well by the scenes that came before that undermine or break the narrative. Example:

Anyone who champions Peter being finally depressed doesn’t understand who Spider-Man is i think. hes not constantly getting shit on like the misery porn that is Spider-Man 2, he’s an average guy, and with MJ and his side cast of average people he deems extraordinary, his life is full of highs and lows and its just exciting to see which side of his double life wins and loses, saying he should just be depressed to be accurate is a surface level understanding of the character

This is forever controversial but IMO Spider-Man should have organic web-shooters. It's always seemed silly to me that his backstory is that a spider bit him and gave him Spider-Powers™ ... except for his most famous spider-power, which he made in a lab. For branding, you know.
