Happy Public Health Week! This year’s theme is Ready. Set. Action! We’re taking time to recognize how public health has improved our lives, kept our families safe, and strengthened our communities. We also honor our local public health workers who show up for us every day!

The measles mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine is very safe and effective. Talk to your health care provider and learn more at columbus.gov/measles.

If you are unvaccinated and were there during that date and time, you should watch for signs and symptoms until March 11. Those who were at the airport during that time and who are vaccinated have a very low risk of getting sick.

There are 6 confirmed cases of measles in central Ohio, including 1 case with recent international travel. As part of this outbreak, the Ohio Department of Health announced a potential measles exposure at @columbusairport on February 18 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Columbus Public Health's building and services will close at 1 p.m. today and remain closed through the New Year's holiday. We will reopen at normal business hours on Friday. Have a safe and fun start to 2026!

The Columbus Public Health building and services will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, including vital statistics. We will also be closed on Thursday, December 25, for the holiday. We will reopen on Friday during regular business hours. Have a safe and healthy holiday!

With SNAP benefits disrupted, the City of Columbus is here to help! We’re providing food, toiletries, hygiene products and diapers to Franklin County SNAP recipients at four pop-up food and resource events. (Supplies are limited. First come first served.)

There is a measles outbreak in central Ohio with four confirmed cases. If you are not fully protected with two MMR doses, join us for a measles shot clinic. We’re partnering with FCPH to offer a clinic on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 9- 1 p.m. at the new Albany Early Learning Center.

According to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, there have been six overdose deaths since yesterday. If an overdose occurs, tell someone to call 911 and do not leave the scene as the Good Samaritan Law is in effect. You can get naloxone by mail at Columbus.gov/cfcap.
