Sigh of relief for current H1B & F1 in U.S. #h1bvisa As per Press Sec 1. This isn’t an annual fee. It’s a 1-time 2. H1B visas & outside of country right now will NOT be charged $100k H-1B visa holders can leave and re-enter country 3. Applies to new visas, not renewals

To be clear: 1.) This is NOT an annual fee. It’s a one-time fee that applies only to the petition. 2.) Those who already hold H-1B visas and are currently outside of the country right now will NOT be charged $100,000 to re-enter. H-1B visa holders can leave and re-enter the country to the same extent as they normally would; whatever ability they have to do that is not impacted by yesterday’s proclamation. 3.) This applies only to new visas, not renewals, and not current visa holders. It will first apply in the next upcoming lottery cycle.

@USAndChennai Why are there no slots for students F1 visa going abroad for Fall 2024? Most of the top universities are giving decisions now only for MS / PhD and with documentations need, it takes one week extra to get I20. Is there some special scheme for who already got a visa?
