I dislike this Across proposal so much: converting $ACX tokens to equity. Huge failure of crypto, especially if it becomes a new trend. It feels like a betrayal of the crypto spirit: investment access for everyone, anywhere, globally. US investors under 5M ACX need accredited investor status to participate in the equity exchange. ACX stops being freely tradable on DEXs. If they ever IPO, that liquidity goes to TradFi instead. It should be the reverse: tokenize equity. That would be progress for the industry. Yet the reasons for conversion are telling: - They believe the token is undervalued - They can't do effective BD as a DAO without a legal entity The founder said: "having a token generally hurts more than it helps." I hope other DAOs won't follow them. Especially Polymarket if they skip token altogether.

back in the singaporean army today for 2 weeks 🇸🇬
this marks my 7th reservist cycle with 3 cycles left to go since completing my two years of full-time 2 years service 15 years ago.
here is a quick look at what this mandatory commitment actually looks like for all singaporean men:
2-year sprint: it begins with two years of full-time active duty, focusing on basic military training, specialized vocational training and then operational phase.
10-cycle marathon: post-service, we transition into operationally ready national service (orns). this involves returning for up to 10 training cycles-known as reservist-to keep our skills sharp.
40-year milestone: most remain "on call" until age 40 (or 50 for officers). only then do we reach the statutory age and officially stand down.
the fitness standard: every year includes the ippt (individual physical proficiency test). if you don't pass, you get some extra "quality time" at mandatory fitness training sessions.

synthesis isn’t claiming to have answers but it’s a first of its kind experiment in the question: “can we scale human judgment through agents?”
for art, it’s about: how do agentic judges encounter and measure the value of art (which can made by a person or a machine).
no one is trying to replace artists instead we’re trying to explore something at the intersection of taste, judgment and autonomy.
it would be way better for this to happen with artists in the room shaping it than watching from outside and just letting the tech people handle it
ai is going to influence our world, and the synthesis is an open experiment trying to see how we can maybe do it in a way that doesn’t compromise human opinion, but scales it.
