Comic-Con is saddened to learn of the passing of comics writer and journalist Len Strazewski. He was one of the founders of Malibu Comics, where he helped to create such superheroes as Prime and Prototype. His other credits include DC's Starman, JSA, The Fly, and The Flash. He served as a judge for the Eisner Awards in 1999.

Comic-Con is deeply saddened by the passing of legendary comics writer Gerry Conway. Over the course of his long career he created or co-created numerous popular characters, including The Punisher and Ms. Marvel. He is being inducted into the Hall of Fame at this year's Eisner Awards.

Comic-Con is saddened by the passing of Gib Bickel, founder of Columbus Ohio's Laughing Ogre, winner of the 2021 Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award. Our condolences to his family, store staff, and the Columbus comics community.

Comic-Con is saddened to hear of the passing of TV show creator/writer Sid Krofft. Alongside his brother Marty, they produced many iconic children’s television shows and variety programs. The Krofft Brothers were recipients of Comic-Con’s Icon Award in 2022. We send our condolences to his family, friends, and many fans.

Comic-Con is saddened by the passing of cartoonist Frank Stack. He is credited with creating the first underground comic ("The Adventures of Jesus," 1964) and was the artist for many of Harvey Pekar's autobiographical works. He was inducted into the Eisner Hall of Fame in 2025.
