Batman existed for less than a year without Robin. Robin isn't the Legion, or childhood friend Lex - he's Lois Lane. A foundational, essential part of the mythology.

Robin is probably the closest thing in Batman continuity to Pa Kent dying, the Legion, or Lex being a childhood friend. Where it’s a thing you *can* do, if you want; you can certainly tell stories with it and some fans are attached to it, which is fine, but it’s not essential.

1st, the gungan word is Clanken, not Clanker
2nd, Bombad Clanken is "Tank" not "Droid", Clanken is Vehicle/machine and Bombad is bombs, explosions
