I just dont get why they made this call. And it's maddening because the match was good! I enjoyed the spots!! It genuinely tricked me into thinking that Punk could win a couple of times!!! But I cant get past the stupid stair shot.

Like, Punk isnt winning his rematch, so it won't feed into a "I got screwed by the company" narrative. I guess it showed how much the two hate each other- because the headbutts, glaring, trash talk etc didnt do that enough apparently.

Seeing the comments here range from "Cry about it" to "The announcers explained it" to "Yeah, you totally wanted the match to end in a DQ, that would've been better" proves my point tbh

The rules of a match dont just set audience expectations, they let you buy into the story the performers are trying to tell. The Fiend losing to Seth Rollins at HIAC is widely panned, and that hatred stems from the ingrained rules of the match being thrown out.

This genuinely killed the match a little for me. Overall I really enjoyed it, but it would have been *so* easy to engineer the ref not seeing it, or to have Punk himself refuse to have the match called off out of pride. As it stands, Roman actively, blatantly cheated.

I cant and don't blame the performers obvs, two matches on the entire card got more than 10 minutes to cook. But when one of those is a main event on par with the Cena/Cody mess from last year, you know the wheels fell off.

I cant believe i just watched 4 hours of wrestling (well, 90 minutes of wrestling spread across 4 hours) and there was precisely One Good Match, what a fucking waste of my life.

Imagine spoiling the biggest match of the year for precisely no reason, 36 hours beforehand

So yeah. 12 year old me would have been seriously satisfied if this is what Season 9 ended up being, and that's maybe the biggest compliment I could give. Can't wait to see it not get renewed, but on the off chance Hulu makes the right call I can't wait to see what they do next!!

If i have one complaint, I think it's that the fantasy sequences really don't mesh with the new style and tone. It almost seems like the writers felt they HAD to include some, and I get it, but I think the characters and writing are strong anad absurd enough on their own merit.

I can't believe that I get to say this with my whole chest, but having watched all 9 episodes, the Scrubs reboot is officially Great. All the OG characters feel like themselves, the interns are all good characters in their own right, and the tone is *spot on*.
