Tarrant County Jail broke records this June.  THREE deaths in four days. Then on June 24th, as the Sheriff's department refused to investigate those deaths, the County dedicated a brand new, $25M Law Enforcement Training Center. The very next day, another inmate died. If Tarrant County is serious about public safety, then public safety must include the people in our custody. Enough is enough. 🚨 The results are in. A new Change Research poll shows me in a virtual tie with Tim O’Hare. 🔴 We begin the race in a dead heat: 44% to 43%. 🟡 After voters learn about both candidates, my lead increases to 49% vs 44%. 🟡 Among voters who say they are certain to vote, I’m leading 53% to 42%. 🟢 And once those motivated voters have read our bios, I lead O’Hare 56% to 41%. That’s what Tarrant County voters say when they hear the truth about this race. O’Hare’s had 4 years. He closed polling places, silenced residents, and broke the budget. Voters know it. Change is coming. And I’m going to be the one to deliver it. 📊 More polling results: votealisa.com/bignews #TarrantCounty #AlisaSimmonsForCountyJudge

THREE lives lost in the Tarrant County Jail in 4 days. Monday, James Kent Johnson. Tuesday, Carl Avery McCray. Thursday, Mack L. Greer. I am calling on the U.S. Department of Justice to come to Tarrant County and investigate this jail. In the Greer death, the sheriff is denying a death even occurred in his jail and is pretending there’s nothing to look into BEFORE the investigation even begins. That is not compassion. That is a cover-up. I am calling on my colleagues to join me. You cannot talk about law and order while refusing responsibility for the people who die under your care. Tarrant County must stop treating jail deaths as PR problems to be managed. These are human tragedies. These families deserve the truth. And I am fighting until they get it. #TarrantCounty #JailReform #JusticeForMackGreer #JusticeForJamesJohnson #JusticeForCarlMcCray

Happy Father’s Day to every Dad, Papá, and Bố across Tarrant County. When it comes to raising children, an ounce of compassion is worth a pound of strength. And the fathers who know that, like my 84-year-old dad, leave the deepest mark. I’m thinking about the dads who make time instead of finding time. The grandfathers whose stories are really lessons. The stepdads, uncles, and mentors who don’t need a title to show up. I’m thinking about the dads we’ve lost. The ones taken too soon, by systems or situations beyond their control. I’m also thinking about my own dad. 30 years driving a city bus, a union member who taught me that service is not about speeches or titles. He’s a big reason I do this work today. That kind of love is work. So today, I’m honoring every father and father figure who shows up with love, discipline, patience, and pride. Happy Father’s Day, Tarrant County. #AlisaSimmonsForCountyJudge #TarrantCounty

Happy Juneteenth. Or is it? Today, as our nation commemorates the delayed arrival of freedom and justice to enslaved people in Texas, I will begin this Juneteenth holiday with a news conference addressing the THIRD jail death in just FOUR days at the Tarrant County Jail. Let that sink in. Three deaths. Four days. Today, I will stand alongside the family of Mack L. Greer, who sustained fatal head injuries while in custody and was transported from the Tarrant County Jail to John Peter Smith Hospital. According to the family, approximately eight hours after Mr. Greer was transported to the hospital, deputies informed his mother that he was being released from custody on a personal recognizance bond. At the time, Mr. Greer was on life support. Then, on Thursday, the family says they were informed that the Sheriff’s Office would not conduct an investigation into Mr. Greer’s death because he was pronounced dead at the hospital and, technically, was no longer in custody after being released on bond. Mr. Greer’s family is devastated. We all should be. When a person suffers fatal injuries while in the custody and care of our county jail, families deserve answers. The public deserves transparency. And accountability should not depend on paperwork completed after a person has been hospitalized. On Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom, justice, and human dignity. But those ideals ring hollow when families are left fighting for answers after losing loved ones connected to our jail system. Happy Juneteenth? Or is there still work to do?

This weekend I was back out knocking doors across Tarrant County. And block after block, I heard the same thing. Neighbors tired of the political noise, the backroom games, and a county government that forgot who it works for. You can see it in the property tax bills, in the unanswered questions about the jail, in every voter who’s been showing up to Commissioner’s Court just to be escorted out. I will ALWAYS show up because that is who I am. But now I need YOU to show up too. Sign up for a shift to volunteer with our campaign: VoteAlisaSimmons.com/mobilize No experience needed. Just a commitment to putting the power back in the people’s hands! #AlisaSimmonsForCountyJudge #TarrantCounty

The first FIFA World Cup match in Arlington is HERE and I want to make sure Tarrant County is ready to show up and show out. 🌍⚽ Three things before you head out: 1. Know before you go. Traffic around AT&T Stadium will be intense. Give yourself extra time to get around and stay safe. 2. Support local while you celebrate. Grab your gear, food, and drinks from Tarrant County’s local businesses. Our neighbors are counting on this moment. 3. Practice your penalty kick right now: votealisasimmons.com/soccer #TarrantCounty #FTW

Taxpayer dollars are funding a task force that won't even show up to explain itself. Back in 2023, Tim O'Hare, the DA, and the Sheriff stood in front of every camera they could find to announce the Tarrant County Election Integrity Task Force. Big smiles. Big promises. They were all in. Three and a half years later? Those same guys can't be bothered to show up at Commissioner's Court to brief the court on what that task force has actually done. I asked for that briefing at Tuesday's Commissioners Court meeting. They didn't come. And when I pressed Tim O'Hare directly, he couldn't answer my questions either. Here's what we do know: In 2024, the task force received 82 complaints of alleged voter fraud and filed ZERO charges over 15 months. There is no verified widespread voter fraud in Tarrant County. There never was. *Taxpayers should not be expected to bear the expenses of activities that primarily benefit an elected official’s public profile with their base.* The task force still has no public-facing dashboard. You can't see the data. Commissioners can't either. I said this was a waste when they created it. I'm saying it again now: How much money has been wasted? You deserve the answers Tim O’Hare is scared to give you. That's why I'm running for Tarrant County Judge. Follow me for updates and share this post so your neighbors know what's happening with their tax dollars. Learn more at votealisa.com. #AlisaSimmonsforCountyJudge #TarrantCounty

I wrote an op-ed about what the Supreme Court’s Louisiana v Callais decision means for you. The Court just made it easier for politicians to rig maps against Black and brown voters, then hide behind the excuse of “partisan politics.” And Tarrant County is ground zero. Tim O’Hare and his allies packed and cracked Black and Hispanic neighborhoods. They closed 125 polling places. They went after my Precinct 2 seat. They tried to redraw power away from the communities that elected me. They call it “race-neutral.” I call it what it is: racism dressed up in legal language. At the center of this fight is a simple question: do you get a voice, or do politicians get to silence you? Read the full piece: progresstexas.org/blog/reality-c…. Then check your voter registration and chip in at VoteAlisa.com. They started this fight, and we are gonna win it. #AlisaSimmonsForCountyJudge #TarrantCounty

If you live in Tarrant County, you’ve been paying a bill that was never sent to your mailbox. Here’s a receipt of how much the “Tim Tax” has cost us as taxpayers. County Judge Tim O’Hare loves to talk about “fiscal responsibility” and “cutting waste.” But when you add up what his political stunts (and incompetence) have cost us, the numbers tell a different story. Every. Single. One. Of these expenses was avoidable. You didn’t vote for any of this, but you’re paying for it anyway. Here’s the thing about receipts: when you get charged for something you didn’t order, you ask for your money back. And the next best thing to a refund is making sure you don’t get charged again. So if you’re tired of footing the bill for Tim’s incompetence, help us send him packing. Vote Alisa Simmons for Tarrant County Judge.
