did you guys know people are removing their organ donor status because they genuinely truly believe doctors are, like, maliciously harvesting organs from people who would otherwise pull through and putting them on the black market?

Doctors are absolutely willing to pull the plug early and lie about survival odds if an organ donor is a known match. You cannot lie when we have documented proof of this.

That’s the thing. I don’t even have any experience with those kinds of organ donation companies where they’re trying to get a new heart for Little Billy in time or whatever. The ones I dealt with did eyeballs, tissue (skin) and bone almost exclusively. So it wasn’t a matter of someone’s life being at stake. Granted, they were still under some kind of time crunch because the bodies were only viable for donation for half a day or so. But I still saw a lot of cases of the donation people being insensitive or just pushing too hard. I figure the ones calling the family either get commission or have some kind of metric they’re trying to keep up with.

Some of them get WAY too pushy with family members who just lost a loved one. Don’t know if it’s chasing commissions or what, but they do.
