I was hoping Washington would inject some real track speed into the running back room - Kaytron definitely doesn't bring that.
But it's true that last year's group also lacked power. It lacked some rock-pounding heft. Kaytron DOES bring that.

Pick 169 is one of the picks the Rams sent to the Chiefs in the Trent McDuffie trade. Kansas City sent it to the Steelers a few minutes ago to move up eight spots for Emmett Johnson.

Yes, I wanted a center. But Joshua Josephs seems like just the sort of pass-rushing developmental prospect to be spending a 5th round pick on.
He's got some tools, and traits to work with. Over to the coaches...

@ChristianBurt He was just starting to show "something" before he got injured last year. Not all-pro stuff, but more than Lane showed as a receiver.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised though at any one of the current receivers (except Terry and Dyami) getting cut. Too many projects.

On Antonio Williams: I have to separate what he is from what he isn't.
He is a terrific prospect who has a chance to be the slot receiver that Washington has whiffed on in the last two drafts.
He isn't the big, fast outside deep threat that I wanted.
Exciting but frustrating.

@CharlesBernar31 Honestly, I was surprised he dropped out of the top 5 in this draft. Peters said they didn't get offers to move down so we'll never know.
If we now have somebody who can cover opposing tight ends, pursue sideline to sideline, and occasionally blitz, I think we'll be very happy.

@CommandersUKFan Really wanted Tate. Thought he was underrated as a prospect and will become an elite receiver (gives me Fitz vibes), so 7 would have been amazing. Love Styles but I think he is a bit overvalued, so I do not think we got a steal whatsoever - pretty sure he would have dropped

I admit I was a little disappointed when Love went at no.3 last night, and stunned when Tate went immediately after. But Styles falling to 7 was a perfect scenario. Can't fail to be excited at the prospect of a do-it-all linebacker in Washington.

Higher risk WR = a torn ACL, broken collarbone, and high-grade hamstring strain (with a re-aggravation) in the past few years. My worry is he is WR version of Lattimore

Might actually make more sense (but not much) to trade out of round one completely if there's nobody at 7 they like.

There's a number of players they could pick at 7 that i would be really happy with. Trading back to add a pick might be the riskier choice in this draft.
