just read a hair-raising line in an essay by Katherine Rundell—“you cannot remain in awe of the familiar, so the only way to maintain wonder is to learn”—and if you need incentive to keep learning, there it is. to stay curious is to stay fascinated.

I like this conceptualization of reflexivity by Braun & Clarke, 2022: "good reflexivity isn't a surface reflection, it isn't a comforting feeling or something designed to make you feel like a better person; it can and should be discomforting, unsettling, and change-bringing."

This morning, Mum suddenly grabbed my hand as we watched the news on #GiselePelicot & said: "We teach you girls to be so vigilant, to always stay alert, every minute of the day. But now what? How are we supposed to protect you while you're sleeping too?" And it has broken me.
