Taught a knife class today, to a group of dude with zero knife experience. 1) I finally rough calculated the sunk cost of my trainer pile. Ouch. Very ouch. 2) @CompEdgeKnives and @ShivworksReal got some orders coming in.

My first day back in the shop! Here’s a look at what I’ve been working on for the last month. I’m finally semi-functional and getting the next drop started. More details to come! Thanks again for your support 🙏🏻.

Getting closer to operational! Building out the new shop has been a ton of work, but I am very excited to start making blades here. It’s gonna be rad!

The new shop buildout is coming along nicely! I’ve always wanted a gantry crane and now I had the perfect excuse to get one. Was able to get everything moved into place today, and should be operational by next week. The crane will make a fun swing indoor swing set/ climbing rope when the buildout is done.

@DrHessMD I sharpen everything on a belt grinder. Lots of videos of it on my YouTube!

@CompEdgeKnives Curious what you do with the edge. How does it effect the sharpness pre and post DLC? Do you just grind the DLC off the edge with a diamond hone?

The people have spoken! Thank you for your responses on my last post. I am switching from Cerakote to DLC. There will be no price increase. I’ll have DLC blades available in the next drop 🤙🏻. I tried 4 different DLC applicators and multiple different recipes over the last year, and I’m very happy with how they turned out!

DLC vs Cerakote — which one do you prefer? DLC (diamond-like carbon) is an ultra-thin coating applied in a vacuum that bonds to the steel at a molecular level. It’s incredibly hard, low-friction, and built for performance. Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that’s sprayed on and oven-cured. It’s thicker and offers a wide range of colors and finishes. DLC = max performance Cerakote = max customization There will be no price increase for DLC. What are you choosing?
