Today thousands of people in Gaza are suffering from illnesses or wounds that don’t have treatment inside the Gaza Strip, and Jalal Mohammad Qutash is one of them. At only 3 months, he got diagnosed with a rare disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa. It causes extremely fragile skin that blisters from minor friction or touch, often called “butterfly skin”. Symptoms include painful skin/mucosal blisters, scarring, and nail changes, often appearing in infancy. To get proper pain and symptom management, this baby needs to be medically evacuated. We urge you to continue to fight to open the borders, and for the genocide to end. Meanwhile, The Sameer Project will provide creams for Jalal and aid to Jalal’s family. Witnesses heard her say, “I don’t have a knife.” They saw her hands raised. They saw her fall. She was left bleeding on the pavement near the Ibrahimi Mosque while medical help was delayed. Then a label arrived faster than an ambulance: “terrorist,” declared by Micky Rosenfeld. The checkpoint is surrounded by cameras. If the official version were true, the footage would exist. It has never been released. Dania’s killing is the "banality of cruelty" in its purest form. A frightened girl in a school uniform, gunned down and then branded a monster before her body was even cold. She should have gone home to her family. She should have had a future. Instead, she became a statistic in a system where Palestinian children are treated as disposable. Her name was Dania Ersheid. She was 17 years old. Killed in cold blood.

This is what real consequences for animal cruelty look like: 4 years behind bars, $65,000 in fines, and a nationwide ban on chaining dogs. Italy just passed one of the strictest animal protection laws in its history. Under the Brambilla Law, anyone who tortures or kills an animal faces up to 4 years in prison and fines up to $65,000, double the previous penalties. The law took effect July 1, 2025 and bans permanently chaining dogs outdoors across the country. For the first time, animals are recognized as legal subjects, not property. Organizing animal fights brings 2 to 4 years in prison. Puppy trafficking can mean up to 18 months. Filming animal cruelty online is now a crime, with harsher penalties if minors are involved. Abandoning an animal can cost up to $11,000. The Italian Senate passed it unanimously, and animal welfare groups across Europe are calling it a model for others to follow. 🇮🇹🐶

Constant stress, fear, and uncertainty weigh heavily. And for those who cannot verbally communicate, their needs, pain, and fear often go unheard amidst the chaos. Families like Hamdan’s are navigating these realities every single day. They are trying to provide him with dignity and care under unimaginable conditions. Basic necessities like personal hygiene items become unaffordabe and out of reach. The Sameer Project provided some relief in the form of a hygiene kit and adult diaper packages. This not only helps Hamdan but his family who are doing everything possible to provide him with love and care, support and dignity. The hygiene kit and XL personal care items totaled about $40 after 11% commission and we will follow up again soon.
