Three days ago, our team walked through Gaza’s markets to document vegetable prices. Today, those same stalls are nearly empty. chuffed.org/project/166623… Aid trucks carrying fresh produce are being blocked at the borders. What was expensive on March 14th is now unavailable. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers - basic vegetables that families rely on - are disappearing from the markets entirely. And it’s not just vegetables anymore. Meat has vanished. The shelves that were half-full are now bare. People in Gaza are watching their food options shrink day by day, and the world isn’t paying attention. This isn’t just about rising prices - it’s about deliberate starvation. When aid trucks are stopped, when fresh food can’t enter, families are left with nothing. This is preventable. This is a choice being made by the occupation while families in Gaza face another Ramadan wondering if they’ll have anything to break their fast with. The Sameer Project is doing everything we can to provide Iftar meals, but we’re fighting against manufactured scarcity. Ramadan may be over now, but hunger in Gaza will continue beyond this month. chuffed.org/project/help-u… The Sameer Project doesn’t just serve displacement camps, we also reach families sheltering in schools across Gaza, where conditions remain dire and food insecurity is constant. Here on March 15, we provided 550 hot meals to families in the Mamdouh Siam and Khaled bin Walid shelter schools in Nuseirat. Each meal included rice with meat, water, dates, and yogurt costing $7.44 per meal, for a total of $4,092 after 11% commission. Fasting has ended, but the need for food has not. Families are still struggling to feed their children daily. Your support ensures they don’t go hungry. New clothes mean feeling special, confident, and part of something bigger. It's about dignity, belonging, and hope for better days ahead. In Sahel Camp, Nuseirat, The Sameer Project distributed 80 Eid outfits to children who've been displaced, who've lost so much, but who still deserve to feel the magic of Eid. The cost was 7,200 shekels ($2,302) and with 11% commission, the total was $2,555. These aren't just clothes - they're moments of happiness in the middle of hardship. Caring for a young adult with disabilities is never simple or easy, but in Gaza today, it becomes nearly impossible. HELP: chuffed.org/project/136892… Displacement strips families of stability. Constant stress, fear, and uncertainty weigh heavily. And for those who cannot verbally communicate, their needs, pain, and fear often go unheard amidst the chaos. Families like Hamdan’s are navigating these realities every single day. They are trying to provide him with dignity and care under unimaginable conditions. Basic necessities like personal hygiene items become unaffordabe and out of reach. The Sameer Project provided some relief in the form of a hygiene kit and adult diaper packages. This not only helps Hamdan but his family who are doing everything possible to provide him with love and care, support and dignity. The hygiene kit and XL personal care items totaled about $40 after 11% commission and we will follow up again soon. Excitement, smiles, new and special clothes - finally feeling the celebratory atmosphere of Eid. chuffed.org/project/166623… On March 17, in Gaza City, 200 children were treated to a special shopping day by The Sameer Project, each receiving a 150 NIS voucher to pick out their very own Eid al-Fitr outfits. The children were excited to make their own choices, feeling good about themselves, and showing their unique personalities. The experience was filled with happiness, dignity, and the magic of Eid. In North Gaza’s Rimal District, finding clean drinking water has become a daily struggle. Not enough water trucks make it through the rubble strewn streets to bring water to families. Scenes from the last few winter storm continue to haunt us as there are just not enough suitable solutions for the shelter and humanitarian crisis that looms in Gaza - particularly when it rains. Help now: chuffed.org/project/113222… Mobile shelters are not allowed in. Caravans, building materials, even tents for all, are held up at the border by the occupation. Families are left with worn-out makeshift poles and sheets to cover them, unable to withstand even one more storm. Yet here we are - hopefully the last winter storm of the year - yet a storm nonetheless that will continue to barrage Gaza with rain and wind that will undoubtedly impact thousands of families. We need to be proactive, we need to be prepared. We cannot point this out enough - infrastructure: in the form of water and sewage systems, electricity, natural gas piping, streets with traffic lights, drains, landfills, energy sources, just to name a few examples in Gaza, have been DECIMATED. Accumulation of water in displacement camps, flooding in the streets, and lack of drainage for storm surges and waste water runoff, point to the occupation’s strategy of deliberate targeting of all these systems in order to make life in the Strip unbearable. Sitting around in a circle preparing the vegetable and the dish’s ingredients…Kousa Mahshi holds deep cultural and emotional significance in Palestine, where food is served not only as nourishment or provided for a gathering, but also a powerful expression of identity. Support: chuffed.org/project/113327… Kousa Mahshi - zucchini hollowed out and filled with rice, spices, and meat, then simmered in a rich tomato based sauce - is a dish that we all grew up making. And in Gaza, the strong connect between family and the land makes this dish reinforce this continuity even in the face of displacement or hardship. Here in The Sameer Project’s Batool Camp making Kousa is a shared activity, same as everywhere else…reinforcing community. The women sat together and made Iftar…a temporary act in a displacement camp, but a very firm act of heritage, perseverance and a testament to resilience. Haneen is a young girl who just wants to go out and play without other children making fun of a visible, physical, serious health condition. chuffed.org/project/166623… She is suffering from tumors, in and around her eye, that require immediate medical attention. Her family, like so many others in Gaza, is struggling on multiple fronts - medical emergencies, displacement, and the daily fight for survival. While Haneen waits for treatment abroad, we also continue providing basic necessities to her and her community, especially during Ramadan. On March 12, 2026, The Sameer Project distributed 765 hot Iftar meals to families inside Al-Wahidi Camp and the surrounding Al-Tuffah area in North Gaza. Each meal included rice with meat, water, dates, and yogurt - costing $8.13 after 11% commission, and totaling $6,214 for the entire distribution, after commission fees. For the injuries in Gaza, survival doesn’t end when the bombing stops. There is minimal follow-up care, no treatment, no path to healing. A young man responsible for his family, forced by famine to seek food aid only to be severely injured while his uncle was killed before his eyes. The trauma he carries is both physical and psychological, and it hasn’t stopped. Ahmed cannot walk yet he is responsible for an entire family with no income, no medical support, and no way to afford the care he urgently needs. His story reflects a wider crisis where the wounded are left without help long after the headlines about food distribution sites, the killings, fade. Ahmed needs support, his family needs food, he needs physiotherapy and follow up care. This woman remembers when families gathered around tables overflowing with food, when children ran through decorated streets, and when neighborhoods came alive at Iftar. Now, those memories feel like another lifetime. Support: chuffed.org/project/166623… But we are working to bring some of that dignity back. On Sunday, March 15, 2026, The Sameer Project organized an Iftar distribution for fasting families inside Al-Anan and Al-Diwan camps, Gaza City. We distributed 765 hot meals of rice and meat, along with 765 packs of dates, water bottles, and large yogurts. Each meal costs 23.28 shekels ($8.34 after 11% commission), totaling $6,380 for the entire distribution. Three Ramadans under genocide have changed everything, but they haven't erased our traditions.
