Crypto loves stronger signatures.
It talks less about who can afford to verify them.
A new Quip research proposal explores batch verification for post quantum signatures on edge nodes.
Instead of checking every large PQC signature one by one, a validator could bundle many together, verify the batch, then isolate the bad transaction only if verification fails.
That matters because post quantum security can quietly raise the hardware floor.
If verification becomes too heavy:
small validators lag
block propagation slows
spam consumes more resources
decentralization begins shrinking
@quipnetwork’s challenge is not only making signatures resistant to quantum attacks.
It is making that protection efficient enough for ordinary nodes to keep participating.
Security that only powerful machines can process may deliver stronger cryptography, but a weaker network.
Can Quip network make post quantum verification scale without pricing out the edge?

World Cup final quirks. The ball drama of 1930. 🏆
Argentina and Uruguay couldn't agree on which ball to use. Argentina wanted their Scottish ball. Uruguay wanted their English ball.
FIFA president stepped in. One half each. Argentina led 2-1 with their ball. Uruguay rallied with theirs. Won 4-2.
The hero? Hector Castro. 'El Manco' – The One-Armed One. Lost his arm to an electric saw. Still scored the winner.
Football is beautiful. And weird.

Hey @grok, what's the more likely explanation for the bumps on Kylian Mbappé's face—ordinary acne,
a reaction to performance-enhancing drugs, or something else?
Is there any evidence suggesting an STD, or would that just be speculation?

AI is changing every industry, but there’s one problem most people ignore:
The infrastructure behind today’s AI is controlled by a handful of centralized providers.
That creates single points of failure, limited access, and high costs.
Here’s why @crynuxio is building a different future. 🧵👇

𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲!!!
All traditional commercial banks will launch a new feature tomorrow.
And with this feature, anyone who knows your account number can now see:
• Your account balance
• Every transfer
• Who pays you
• What you spend on
Would you call this innovation? Hell no.
So why are we normalizing something in Web3 that people in Web2 would never put up with?
Doesn't that sound absurd to you? Because it does to me.
If we're serious about fixing this, then @UmbraPrivacy deserves our attention.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗨𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮?
Umbra is a self-custodial wallet built to bring financial privacy to @solana.
Instead of exposing your balances, transfers, and trading activity every time you use your wallet,
Umbra lets you shield your assets, make private transfers, and swap tokens more privately,
all while your transactions are still processed and verified on the Solana blockchain.
It gives you more control over what others can learn from their on-chain activity.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗨𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴?
One of blockchain's biggest strengths is transparency.
Every transaction is recorded on a public ledger, allowing anyone to verify that transactions are genuine and that no one is cheating the system.
This transparency is one of the reasons blockchains are trusted.
Because they don't rely on a central authority to confirm who owns what or whether a transaction actually happened.
But transparency has a side effect that many people don't think about.
On most public blockchains, your wallet address becomes a window into your financial activity.
While your real name isn't attached to it by default, anyone who knows your wallet address can often inspect your on-chain activity.
That includes your token balances, transaction history, the decentralized applications you've interacted with,
and the wallets you've sent funds to or received funds from.
This is crazyyy broo. For real.
I know "on-chain privacy" doesn't sound like something most people lose sleep over.
I didn't think much about it either until Umbra made me ask myself one simple question:
What can someone actually learn about me from just my wallet address?
The answer surprised me.
You might think that regular users are not really affected by this, but it’s a lie.
Regular users like me and you are gravely affected.
To make you understand, read through this example carefully:
You have a friend named James, a freelance designer.
A client asks for his Solana wallet address so they can pay him for a project.
James sends the address, gets paid, and goes about his day.
What James may not realize is that the client can now look up that wallet on the blockchain.
4
Without asking another question, the client might be able to see that James owns over $200,000 worth of crypto,
which tokens he holds, when he swaps assets, when he cashes out, and many of the wallets and protocols he interacts with.
James never chose to share any of that information.
The only thing he shared was a wallet address to receive payment.
That's the problem Umbra is trying to solve.
Umbra isn't trying to make transactions disappear or take them off the blockchain.
Transactions are still processed and verified on Solana, preserving the transparency needed for the network to function.
What Umbra changes is how much of your personal financial activity is exposed to everyone else.
By allowing users to shield their assets and make private transfers and swaps,
Umbra helps separate blockchain transparency from personal financial transparency.

Well, let me help you out, it will:
· Protects your financial privacy on-chain.
· Keeps your wallet balances from being easily visible.
· Makes your transaction history harder to inspect.
· Lets you receive payments without exposing your entire wallet.
· Reduces how easily others can track your on-chain activity.
· Makes it harder for strangers to profile your financial habits.
· Helps protect high-value wallets from unwanted attention.
· Reduces the information available to scammers and attackers.
· Lets you trade without broadcasting every move.
· Helps prevent copy trading based on your public activity.
· Gives businesses and DAOs more confidential treasury management.
· Separates blockchain transparency from personal financial transparency.
· Gives you greater control over who can learn about your finances.
· Makes using crypto feel closer to the privacy people expect from traditional banking.
· Preserves on-chain verification while protecting sensitive financial information.
· Gives Web3 users ownership without sacrificing financial privacy.

If you're just getting started with Umbra Wallet, don't worry.
The setup is straightforward, and you'll be up and running in just a few minutes.
Here's how to get started:
1. Download the Umbra Wallet app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. If you don't want to install the app, you can also use the web version.
2. Tap Create New Wallet.
3. Choose a 6-digit passcode, tap Continue, then enter it again to confirm.
4. Set up biometric security using your fingerprint if your device supports it.
5. Turn on notifications if you'd like to receive updates.
That's it! Your wallet is now ready.
6. Tap View Wallet to enter your wallet dashboard.
Before you do anything else, back up your wallet.
You can save it to Google Drive, your socials, or store your recovery phrase somewhere safe offline.
This is very important because if you lose access to your wallet and don't have a backup, you may not be able to recover your funds.
𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲
When you open your wallet, you'll notice two sections: Public Wallet Balance and Private Wallet Balance.
𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, you'll see your wallet address and your current balance.
You'll also find buttons that let you view your transaction history, return to the home screen, or search for different items.
At the bottom-right corner of the screen, you'll see a blue + button. This is where you'll find the main wallet features:
1. Buy
2. Swap
3. Receive (Deposit)
4. Send
Let's quickly look at what each one does.
𝟭- 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻𝘀:
Swapping is very simple.
Choose the token you already have in your wallet, then choose the token you want to receive.
Review the details, confirm the swap, and you're done.
𝟮- 𝗕𝘂𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗼:
The Buy option is for when you want to purchase crypto directly instead of waiting for someone to send it to you.
You'll pay using your regular bank card or another supported payment method.
Keep in mind that transaction fees may apply, and the exact fee depends on the cryptocurrency you're buying and the payment provider.
𝟯- 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗼:
Receiving crypto is just as easy.
Tap Receive, then either copy your wallet address and send it to the person making the payment, or let them scan the QR code displayed on your screen.
Both methods lead to the same wallet.
𝟰- 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗼:
To send crypto, tap Send, paste the recipient's wallet address, or scan their QR code.
Enter the amount you want to send, review everything carefully, then confirm the transaction.
𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲, it is basically like that of the public wallet,
just that it has some distinct features, which I will be talking about below.
𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗽𝘀
Shielding means moving your crypto from Umbra’s public wallet into its private wallet.
Your funds are still on Solana, still belong to you, and the network still verifies every transaction.
The difference is that your balances and activity are no longer exposed in the same way they would be in a standard public wallet,
making it much harder for outsiders to inspect or link your financial activity.
A private swap works after your assets have been shielded.
The blockchain still processes and verifies the swap, but the details of your activity are not as easily visible or traceable to outside observers.
This means you can trade without broadcasting your portfolio movements to anyone who knows your wallet address.
The easiest way to think about it is this is that shielding protects your assets before you use them,
while private swaps protect your trading activity while you're using them.
Its features don't stop there.
As I mentioned earlier, it's similar to a regular public wallet, but now, sending, receiving, swapping, and buying of crypto are all done privately.
𝗠𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
One thing I genuinely liked about the Umbra Wallet is how easy it is to use.
I'm using the Android version, and I found my way around the app within seconds.
The layout is clean, the buttons are easy to find, and everything feels beginner-friendly. I expect the iOS and web versions to offer a similar experience.
One thing to note is that everything I've covered here is based on the Public Wallet Balance interface.
I wasn't able to fully explore the Private Wallet Balance section yet because I haven't funded my wallet at the time of writing.
So, if you've never thought about how much your wallet reveals, now's a good time to start.
Explore Umbra and experience a more private way to use Solana: umbraprivacy.com/?utm_source=su…
