Read this List of 65 lakhs voters whose names appeared in 2025 list but are not included in the draft list shall be displayed on the district level websites. 👉Aggrieved persons may submit their claims along with a copy of their Aadhaar cards. Wide publicity shall be given of the deleted voter list in vernacular language newspapers which has maximum circulation and it must be broadcast and telecast on Doordarshan and other channels. And you call yourself a journalist !!

This framing—taking a “hit”—is most odd. Isn’t it the Centre’s job to take care of citizens’ concerns, whether it means spending money or not? It’s the same issue with terming infrastructure a “gift” to the nation.

@theskindoctor13 Sad indeed. The story repeats everywhere, the downsides of economic migration. There are chances to be with old parents, once kids are off to college. I wish NRIs try and make amends then atleast, instead of obsessing over saving more money or staying in comfort zone

An old man in our neighborhood died today. He was hospitalized with chest pain three days ago, underwent angioplasty, but passed away in the ICU. His wife had died during the COVID wave, and he had been living alone since then. His only son lives in Australia and couldn’t come to see his father. Now, I’m not saying that the son is uncaring or abandoned his parents. I don’t know him. Maybe he is really a nice man. The elderly couple used to visit him every year and spend a few months with him. But maybe once you build a life outside, you can’t really come back. Life, distance, responsibilities, things become complicated. The son hadn’t come to India in nearly 10 years. He couldn’t come for his mother’s last rites due to COVID travel restrictions, and I don’t even know if he’ll be able to come now or will have to arrange his father’s last rites from there itself. This has stayed with me all day. To think of an old man spending his final years largely alone, losing his partner, and then leaving this world without his son by his side. Even as an unrelated observer, the whole thing feels unbearably sad.

@svembu Self respect is important. Our own GOI makes lives of OCIs supremely difficult. In feb 2021, ministry of home affairs issued notification that OCIs cannot get merit seats through neet. Only paid NRI quota. We fought in sc on this. Even now, that notice holds good for future ocis

Once again, my appeal to Indians in America on a visa. Please come home. Even if you feel it is hardship and sacrifice, self-respect should dictate your course. Let's make Bharat proud 🙏
