Excellent article (unbiased opinion!) by my sister @AmandaPCraig on the horrors of endometriosis, and how insulting it is for of a charity for the disease to have a trans woman as its spokesperson.

Nice interview with Monty Don in the Times. I like his comment that our much-maligned weather is so perfect for gardening that we are ‘horticultural billionaires’.

My very clever cousin Diana has made me this beautiful double-sided memory quilt. Materials from Mum's wardrobe, curtains from the house, a bridesmaid dress, apron, etc. Even made using Mill Wheel quilting design on the blue and white side. I cried...

A French feminist gig chanting “Death, death to the IDF”. It astounds me how young western women do propaganda for Hamas who would murder every single one of them.

If this works out, it would be the most satisfying story of the decade. Swap vastly expensive US kit for low cost Ukrainian ingenuity.

Fantastic letter from the Ukrainian ambassador.
Roman Sheremeta 🇺🇸🇺🇦@rshereme

The Embassy of Iran in South Africa sent a message to the Embassy of Ukraine informing us about the opening of a book of condolences for the deceased ayatollah and his associates. Ukrainian Ambassador Dr. Olexander Scherba sent them a response. Your Excellency, Mr. Ambassador, Since you notified the Embassy of Ukraine of the book of condolences for the deceased Ayatollah Khamenei and Iran’s military leadership, I feel compelled to remind you of the following. As military allies of the Russian Federation, the deceased leaders of Iran had on their hands the blood of thousands of Ukrainian citizens – men and women, children and elderly – killed with the help of the infamous Iran-made “Shahed” drones and other military know-how so eagerly provided to Russia by your government. Your leaders were complicit in bringing endless grief to Ukrainian civilians. Being a person of faith, I try not to rejoice in the death of other people, even those who chose to be tormentors of my country, who did nothing bad to theirs. But as someone who has spent three years to the tune of Iran-created machines of death howling every night in the sky over Kyiv and other peaceful Ukrainian cities, I cannot help but wish for every culprit to meet the justice they deserve. If not by human law, then in the face of God Almighty. Ambassador, I do not know you personally and have no grudge against you. Sometimes, good diplomats must speak for bad leaders and their policies. But I hope you understand that I won’t express condolences for someone whose death I do not mourn. Sincerely, Dr. Olexander Scherba Ambassador

Farewell Apostrophe. Tweezer's Alley used to narrow from 2 or so metres at one end to a few feet at the other. It is now a wide lane, with a new building on one side. New building has a street sign. Old sign is on other side. Spot the difference. Westminster council gave up.

"Congratulations comrade, I see your efforts to infiltrate the imperialists have succeeded." "Yes, my 'partner' has been elected to Parliament, from here I will have a direct line to the inner workings of the imperialists and we will know exactly their capabilities!" [1 YEAR LATER] "The party officials back home want to congratulate you on how effective you have been at using your leverage to destroy Labour party support from within!" "Thank you but I didn't do anything at all." "Wait what?" "My partner is a backbencher, they are diligent and hardworking, certainly, but nothing of what happened was their doing." "Are you saying the Labour leadership did this themselves?" "Yes entirely! They seem completely focused on destroying their own economy with this Net Zero madness, they keep arresting their fellow citizens for things even WE would let go, they're deliberately ignoring industrial levels of rape going back decades, their national security policies are so bad we couldn't dream of improving them... honestly I wish I could claim credit, but this is all on their own leaders." "Jeez..." "Are you sure you don't have other assets?"

The Iranian women’s national football team refused to sing the anthem of the Islamic Regime. Tonight. At the opening match of the Asian Cup. In front of the entire world. So, to all liberal Western women: Watch and learn. THIS is what real feminism looks like.

I will say this openly: if you are gay, or part of the wider LGBTQ+ community, and support the Green Party, reflect. This is their deputy leader. He’s at a protest to support a regime that hangs us from cranes and throws us off buildings. He does not give a fuck about us.

Deputy leader of @TheGreenParty, Mothin Ali, joins a rally in London in support of the Islamic regime in Iran—the same regime that has the official slogan “Death to England” & has plotted more than 20 terror attacks on British soil. The Greens are a threat to national security.

Good news from Ukraine. Today is the first day of spring. We have lived through the hardest winter of the full-scale war. Living without electricity, heating, and water supply in freezing weather was physically and emotionally draining. And yet, there were so many acts of kindness and light during those dark times. This is also part of the story of this winter. A lot of our friends helped Ukraine tremendously. Thank you! Ukrainians are beyond grateful to our Defenders, energy workers, everyone who protects us and undoes the damage done by Russia 24/7, in bitter cold and extreme heat. Here are some of the examples I want to remember from this winter: ▪️ Ukrainians offered help to neighbors, friends, and strangers alike - to anyone who needed it. "I have gas to cook and hot water to wash. Welcome." "The power is out, but we have water, gas, and a boiler with hot water. If anyone needs it - you’re welcome to come over." "If you have a small kid and need to cook (we have gas), bathe, or charge your devices, please reach out. We’re just an ordinary family, but we’ll share what we have. We are nearby, we are together, we are unbreakable." These were just a few of the thousands of posts that flooded social media this winter. Restaurants and other businesses invited people in to warm up, take a shower, charge devices, dry their hair, and have a cup of hot tea. Shopping malls opened co-working spaces so people could continue working. ▪️ People built warming shelters for stray animals, let them into shops and buses to warm up, fed birds, and brought food and hay for swans. ▪️ Colorful igloos made of ice blocks helped people see beauty even in the darkest times. ▪️ Neighbors spontaneously organized "parties" in the courtyards of apartment buildings or by frozen lakes - with food cooked over open fires, dancing, and conversation.

A genocide against Ukrainians is unfolding right now. It already has a name: "Kholodomor" (exhaustion through cold) This crime is being deliberately committed by Russia. In legal terms, it has a clear definition - genocide. Under Article II of the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, one of the defining acts of genocide is: "Deliberately inflicting on a group of people conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part." Many Ukrainian cities - Kyiv foremost among them - have been without electricity, heating, and water for the second week in a row, amid severe frosts. What does this mean? It means people are being condemned to death by Russia. This is what is happening: ▪️ Elderly people cannot leave their apartments to buy food or water because elevators do not work - or because they are physically unable to walk down the stairs; ▪️ No communication: mobile phones are dead, there is no way to call for help or an ambulance; ▪️ Sick people cannot use life-sustaining medical equipment because there is no electricity at home; ▪️ Mothers of small kids carry their children and strollers up staircases in high-rise buildings - along with water and food; ▪️ No hot meals and no possibility to cook food at home; ▪️ Sewer system failures, creating critical and dangerous conditions; ▪️ Illness caused by extreme cold and the inability to stay warm; ▪️ Children cannot attend schools because there is no heating. Distance learning is also impossible without electricity; ▪️ Kindergartens are closed, mothers cannot work, earn money to feed their children; ▪️ Stray animals are freezing to death on the streets; ▪️ Even pets are dying from the cold - parrots, aquarium fish, animals kept in terrariums; ▪️ Animals in zoos are freezing; ▪️ Collections of rare plants in Kyiv’s botanical gardens have frozen and died; ▪️ Small businesses are earning nothing, forced to spend money on generators and fuel - causing direct losses to the economy; ▪️ Severe harm to the environment and public health due to the constant operation of massive numbers of generators; ▪️ Public transport functions far worse due to power outages; electric transport does not operate at all, leaving people unable to reach work, doctors, or essential services; ▪️ Burst pipes and freezing temperatures are destroying homes, making them uninhabitable; ▪️ Hospitals are forced to cancel planned surgeries, operating in emergency mode and at full capacity; ▪️ Rates of depression, anxiety disorders, and burnout are sharply increasing. Russia wants to make large Ukrainian cities uninhabitable. This is a humanitarian catastrophe deliberately caused by Russia.
