@salopcast Happy with the vast majority but the fact Taylor Perry has been offered a new contract for me sums up this era of Shrewsbury town history. We’ll take below average mediocrity if it’s cheap. Disagree with giving Hoole an offer too. He might have had a purple patch but poor for me

Needs reiterating that Cowan & the coaching team worked miracles getting this group of players to 41 pts,the coming together vision will only come once player desire & ability are both raised significantly in the off season+when the leadership of the club gets the reset it needs

Today I’d question effort of the players and some of these absolute grifters have downed tools at this point. Highs of five wins in a row and scenes of celebrations like we won the league show they evidently think they are better than they are. Persisting with Benning is mental.

This is an absolutely ludicrous appointment for me. You are appointing a man with zero football league management experience to save the club from what could be the biggest relegation this club has ever suffered when you had Pete Wild available. Gambling not an option.

@poolieshrew I don’t disagree that he should have done better but I don’t think he’s been put in much of a position to succeed. I didn’t agree with the call to bench him against wolves but take Henderson, he had Sadler and Toto in front of him to offer some support rather than be blitzed.

@stfchewitt Oh I think it’s too late now. The fact that Shrewsbury would have limited options is purely down to a lack of forward and contingency planning. No decent manager will accept this job at this point of the transfer window. For me the time for a change was MK at home.

In retrospect it would have been best for us to sack Appleton after the reverse fixture at home against franchise last season, we’ve stumbled on this season but I get no sense Appleton knows how to turn it around.
