Congress is preparing to vote once more on the Big Beautiful Bill after it narrowly passed the Senate yesterday. If signed into law, these cuts could cause long-term devastating effects for every Michigan family.

No parent should have to choose between feeding their children and paying the bills. I’m fighting to protect SNAP and WIC so families across Michigan can meet their most basic needs.

In House District 48 alone, thousands of families rely on food assistance: • 16,395 in Washtenaw County • 4,609 in Livingston County • 11,748 in Jackson County Food shouldn’t be a partisan issue.

Cutting SNAP and WIC means taking food off the tables of kids, moms, and families already struggling to get by. These cuts aren’t just harmful. They’re cruel.

Health care is not a luxury. It’s a lifeline. I’m standing with House Democrats to protect Michigan families from these reckless cuts.

Medicaid supports over 2.4 million Michiganders—including kids, seniors, and people with disabilities. But Republicans in Congress want to gut it.

On Saturday, I joined the Silence the Violence event at St. Aidan’s in Ann Arbor, a powerful night of remembrance, resilience, and action. Grateful to stand with survivors and advocates. Silence is not an option. We must act to end gun violence.
