I am a Roman Catholic who was recently introduced to the Eastern Orthodox faith by one of my close friends. This has sparked a flame in my heart for studying the different beliefs held by both Churches, and to continually grow in communion with the Lord, and to allow him to truly reveal Himself to me. After gaining a very basic understanding of EO's view on Patristic theology, this has made me fall in love with the Church Fathers and their teachings. I hold both Churches close to my heart; however, I believe that I hold some Eastern Orthodox views so strongly that my research may ultimately make me choose between Eastern Orthodoxy and Catholicism. You're creating a false dichotomy here. You're presenting only two options and framing them as the only ones that exist, basic grooming" and "demonic vanity."
