I am a Roman Catholic who was recently introduced to the Eastern Orthodox faith by one of my close friends. This has sparked a flame in my heart for studying the different beliefs held by both Churches, and to continually grow in communion with the Lord, and to allow him to truly reveal Himself to me. After gaining a very basic understanding of EO's view on Patristic theology, this has made me fall in love with the Church Fathers and their teachings. I hold both Churches close to my heart; however, I believe that I hold some Eastern Orthodox views so strongly that my research may ultimately make me choose between Eastern Orthodoxy and Catholicism. Pray for me as I discern. I’ll be praying for you all as well. Philippians 2:10-11 RSVCE that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. AVE CHRISTUS REX

@ConniveOfficial @iam_shwa St. Thomas Aquinas (Summa Theologica & Contra Gentiles): Aquinas classifies Jews and Muslims as infidels who admit/worship the one true God (Creator, Judge) but lack faith in Christ and the Trinity. Unlike pagans/idolaters who worship false gods. /1

No. The Jews did/do not adore (latin: adorare - to worship) God once they rejected Christ, even if they claim to worship the God of Abraham. The same is applicable to Muslims. Pre-Christ: Jews worshipped the one true God (The Trinity), but only according to the partial revelation that they had. Post-Christ: Once Christ came and revealed the Father fully, rejection of Christ means they no longer know or adore the Father. “But at any rate the Jews say that they, too, adore God. God forbid that I say that. No Jew adores God! Who say so? The Son of God say so. For he said: ‘If you were to know my Father, you would also know me. But you neither know me nor do you know my Father.’” — Adversus Judaeos, Homily 1 This is not complicated to understand. Doctor and Father of the Church, St. John Chrysostom is explaining the teaching very clearly and is quoting directly from scripture, specifically John 8:19. This is the teachings of John 8:19 and John 14:7: knowledge of the Father is inseparable from knowledge of the Son. Rejection of the Son means one does not know, and therefore does not adore, the Father. St. Gregory the Theologian (Doctor and Father of the Church) makes the same point. This, however, is all I must now say about God; for the present is not a suitable time, as my present subject is not the doctrine of God, but that of the Incarnation. But when I say God, I mean Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. For Godhead is neither diffused beyond these, so as to bring in a mob of gods; nor yet is it bounded by a smaller compass than these, so as to condemn us for a poverty-stricken conception of Deity; either Judaizing to save the Monarchia, or falling into heathenism by the multitude of our gods. For the evil on either side is the same, though found in contrary directions. –St. Gregory the Theologian, Oratio 38, VIII St. Gregory is clearly stating that reducing God as anything less than the Trinity is EVIL and is equally as EVIL as pagan polytheism. The God they seek is the God we know, but only if they come to Him through the door of the Incarnate Word. Until then, though they may use the name “Allah” or “YHWH,” they do not have the same God, for they do not have the Son. And “he who does not have the Son does not have the Father” (1 John 2:23).

Please make a logical argument for Lumen Gentium 16. Where it says, “In the first place amongst these there are the Muslims, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind.” 1 John 2:22-23 RSVCE Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also. vatican.va/archive/hist_c…

You're creating a false dichotomy here. You're presenting only two options and framing them as the only ones that exist, basic grooming" and "demonic vanity." There's a huge middle ground — looksmaxxing without turning into a vain narcissist. Why are you pretending this middle ground doesn't exist? The real demonic trap isn't caring about your looks. It's making any one thing the center of your life, placing said thing above Christ. Where exactly is the line between "basic grooming" and demonic vanity? Is it going to the gym to stay lean? Using Accutane to get clear skin? Going to the dentist to fix bad teeth? At what point does basic grooming become "the devil’s work"? Like I stated before, it’s important to ascend both your looks and your psyche/soul.

People don’t understand what looksmaxxing is just by reading the replies Basic grooming isn’t looksmaxxing Men should shave, cut their hair, and keep a clean appearance, etc Looksmaxxing on the other hand is a demonic doctrine of self worship where vanity consumes you entirely

@JoJoJario658 @MrOverprayed Are you trying to say that this quote equates to putting looks above God, or expresses worry? If so you truly are just another retard on this website.

Are you responding to what I actually said or a stronger version of it? If you go back, it's pretty clear I wrote, "one of the strongest predictors of social judgments..." You're removing the qualifier "one of". I made an empirical claim on the psychology of first impressions. Are you arguing that, or shifting into a theological/moral critique? Furthermore, where did I express worry or reliance on looks instead of God, or is that being added?

@conn1v3 @MrOverprayed Lol so u admit ur worried about modern societies' issues on "hypergamy" by relying on your looks instead of God. You just said this. "Physical appearance is the strongest social judgment" Why care about social judgment? Christ sure didn't lol
