Question for the analysts How do you define a “completed pass”? Is there a specific criteria?

@Jenksno1 Exactly mate, you’re not a million miles off, I’d say this “ a successful pass is one that’s received and controlled by a teammate evidenced by either multiple touches or a clear, purposeful redirection to another teammate”

@ConnorToland1 So if I’m recording successful passes as a pass that results in two touches (either 2 or more from one player or 2 from two players - 1 touch passes) I wouldn’t be a mile off from the actual definition? Trying to differentiate from passes that bounce off a player & poss is lost

@Jenksno1 As long as a the player passing the ball is clean a pass, doesn’t bounce of another player and it’s all intentionally, I’d say that the criteria!

Working for the club I love has been the privilege of my life, but I’ve decided to move on. I’ve been involved in media at City since I was 13 so stepping away will feel a bit surreal, but it’s time to try something different. Will miss you all ❤️ Lived it. Loved it. #ecfc.
