Had a overall good summer with @BTLHornets going 22-14-4. Here’s my stats from the summer. PA:104 AB: 82 AVG: 378 OBP: 510 OPS: 1.132 SLG: 622 Hits: 31 1B: 17 2B: 9 3B: 4 HR: 1 RBI: 28 Runs: 21 Walks: 17 @PrepBaseballKS @damagehitter @PB_Uncommitted @PbrUrban

Olympic sprinters know running a curve is its own skill. Base runners should too. Inside foot stabilizes. Outside foot drives. Inside arm tight. Outside arm crosses midline to drive hips into turn. 2 feet, 2 arms, whole body tilt, all working the curve. Could watch these all day!

I was working with one of my players today. He looked at me and said, "Coach... I just want to get more hits." I smiled and said, "That's not your job." He looked confused. I told him, "Your job is to increase your probability of getting a hit." That's what hitting really is. A game of probabilities. On 0-0, the odds say you're most likely to get a fastball. So hunt the fastball. On 2-0...Fastball. 3-0...Fastball. 3-1...Fastball. You're stacking the odds in your favor. Now think about why batting averages drop with two strikes. Because now you have to protect against the fastball...The breaking ball...And the changeup. The odds become less favorable. The same principle applies to your swing. Your job isn't to chase hits. Your job is to hit the ball hard as often as possible. Why? Because hard-hit balls become hits far more often than weakly hit balls. You're not trying to guarantee a hit. You're trying to increase the probability of getting one. The best hitters don't chase results. They chase probabilities. They hunt the pitches they're most likely to get. Just wrapped up the weekend going 4-1 w/ @BTLHornets. The boys have been playing some really good ball lately. I went 6-11 with 10 rbi’s, 2 singles, 2 doubles, 1 triple, and an inside the park HR.
