Schools don’t “produce” professionals; they equip individuals with skills who then sort themselves based on interests, opportunities etc. When understanding human capital, a school shouldn't funnel all to a narrow set of professions.

Sometimes back I believed that schools like Alliance should only produce doctors, Engineers, Lawyers. This became the opposite after my cousin who attended Alliance became a teacher.

This is really sad. The 1st time we talked was off the pitch, he thanked me as our dept had given his bro a job (His bro had just finished form 4 & is now a PhD). Whenever we would meet he would proudly update me on his bro 'Cap, kijana anaenda masters; jamaa ako PhD etc..' RIP

Former Kenya Lionesses Head Coach and Nakuru player, Felix 'Ade' Oloo, has sadly passed away💔. Felix 'Ade' Oloo Otieno was a respected Kenyan rugby coach and former player, widely recognized for his contribution to grassroots development and the growth of women’s rugby in Kenya. Commonly known as “Ade” or “Mwalimu,” he built a strong reputation both on and off the field through his leadership and commitment to the sport. Otieno enjoyed a long playing career with Nakuru RFC spanning approximately 15 years (2003–2017). During his time at the club, he was part of successful squads that secured Kenya Cup titles in the 2012–13 and 2013–14 seasons, as well as winning the Enterprise Cup and other domestic competitions including the Bamburi Super Series. Transitioning into coaching, Otieno took up roles at Nakuru RFC where he handled both the men’s and women’s teams, focusing on rebuilding structures and nurturing young talent. His impact extended to the national stage where he served as head coach of both the Kenya Lionesses 7s and 15s teams. Under his leadership, the Lionesses achieved qualification for the Tokyo Olympics and competed in major tournaments such as the Africa Women’s competitions, the Dubai 7s Invitational, and the Elgon Cup. He is widely credited for building competitive structures despite limited resources. Rest in peace Ade🕊🕊❤️

Sofapaka F.C.’s relegation marks a painful moment for Kenyan football. Under Elly Kalekwa, the club set a standard many admired; especially in player welfare and timely pay, raising the bar for professionalism in the game. That guy taught most Kenyan clubs how to get the best in players' sales, too, when foreign clubs came knocking. That legacy should not be lost in this difficult chapter. Football can be unforgiving, and without financial backing, even well-run clubs struggle to stay afloat. Sofapaka’s fall is not just their story but a reflection of the wider challenges in our league. I wish them strength and success as they begin a new chapter in the National Super League. @pepeta_ke
