Last week, we invited Gary Hayers from @efixx247 to speak with the #ElectricalInstallation students at our Brunel Construction Centre, providing a fantastic opportunity for our students to find our more about career opportunities in construction.

As Women in Construction Week draws to a close, we’d like to shine a spotlight on our Level 2 Plumbing student, Rebecca Markey, who reached the semi-finals of the Female HIP Skills Plumbing Competition hosted at York College #WomenInConstructionWeek

This week is #WomenInConstructionWeek! Last month we hosted a Women in Construction event at our Brunel Construction Centre, where we welcomed female students from local schools to find out about full-time courses, apprenticeships and T Levels in Construction at Kirklees College.

There has been some fantastic work taking place in the #Plumbing workshops at our Brunel Construction Centre this summer, including the development of a green technology area, where we'll be delivering the @BPEC1 Award in Installation & Maintenance of Heat Pumps Systems.

The construction industry is certainly booming at the moment and this is reflected in the number of students we are seeing enrolling on our construction courses. Lots of work is currently taking place in our workshops which will mean we can welcome even more students in September
