Nigel Payne DL 🇸🇰
President, Consular Association of Wales
Delighted to host Her Excellency Karen-Mae Hill OBE, High Commissioner of Antigua and Barbuda to the United Kingdom and Member of the Commonwealth’s Board of Governors, during her visit to Wales.
A series of constructive meetings took place to explore current and future links between Antigua and Barbuda and Wales.
Discussions included engagement with the Chair and CEO of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, the Chair of Cardiff Wales Airport regarding future hub and connectivity opportunities, and Cardiff University on strengthening international student links.
It was also a pleasure to welcome Rogerio Verma, Chair of RCS Wales, Kevin Seal of 30 Park Place Chambers (Cardiff & Wales Chester Circuit), and Samantha Thomas from the Welsh Government International Relations team.
Diplomatic discussions further considered the potential future appointment of an Honorary Consul for Antigua and Barbuda in Wales. The Consular Association continues to support the growth of the diplomatic corps represented in Wales, alongside the expanding Antigua and Barbuda community living and working here.
Antigua and Barbuda will host the 28th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) from 1–4 November 2026 — an important moment for the Commonwealth family.
