Have you identified “Greybanded weevil” shredding marshmallow? Note the picture below and the effect on marshmallow at different growth stages. In our herbicide trial looking at old vs new group G spikes these weevils often sped up the level of control of marshmallow.

Sheep went in our Pingaring @GRDCWest winter wheat trial last week. Despite late crop emergence due to low soil moisture, the extra grazing will still be useful as pasture growth has really slowed due to low temperatures and moisture. Will be interested if there’s a yield penalty

Marshmallow often needs some extra 🥊 at knockdown time. The new Group 14’s (G’s) are showing quicker brownout than the former go to carfentrazone. Images below are from a @GRDCWest investment into finding marshmallow control solutions.

Flying green mice! What we thought initially was mouse damage is actually parrot damage to our @GRDCWest Winter wheat trial at Cunderdin. With different varieties ripening at different stages, the early ones are getting hammered.

The ⁦@GRDCWest⁩ winter wheat trial is jumping out of the ground at Gairdner. This trial is looking at varying crop species including wheat, barley and oats and how they respond to grazing. Stay tuned for the results!
