I switched my main desktop from Windows 11 to Linux Mint. Honestly, a few years ago I’d have laughed at the idea. But Windows is getting worse, Linux is getting better, dev work is faster, and gaming is finally viable. Why I switched: buff.ly/0rWNiKb

@davidfowl My team uses Claude Code in VSCode on Windows regularly. What do you mean by "choppy"?

@GuildWars2 @ArenaNet Do you ever plan on fixing the broken registration for for your game, or is it broken on purpose to force people to use Steam?

@AnthropicAI still doesn't have embeddings model and their docs tell people to use a 3rd party - so "don't use anthropic for RAG" is what I'm hearing - might as well just use a provider that does for my whole app then. One API key & payment covers everything that way. #LLMs #ai

I've been experimenting with AI agents working together - Amazon's Kiro + SuperDesign. The results are fascinating, but the implications for design careers are sobering. What happens when AI tools start collaborating? 🤖 buff.ly/bnekxQK #AI #Design #TechCareers

@GregMolnar Sounds more like a Rails problem than a UUID problem to me.

So today I have to say this again: Do not use UUID for primary keys!

Just spent a few days testing Amazon's new Kiro IDE and I'm impressed. Finally, an AI coding assistant that understands engineering process, not just code generation. The spec-driven approach changes everything. My full review: buff.ly/Gehsz3Q #AI #coding #development

@HMRCgovuk @HMRCcustomers I used the online form to request a Certificate of Residence for my Google AdSense to avoid double taxation. You instead sent me a "Letter of confirmation of residence" which states it is NOT a certificate of residence & they won't accept it.

I built the same app with multiple AI coding tools to test their real capabilities. Here's what I learned about "vibe coding" and why human developers aren't going anywhere (yet). #AIcoding #SoftwareDevelopment buff.ly/Gcn4EKp

After 25 years in web development, I've watched countless digital projects die in corporate approval purgatory. My latest piece examines this organizational paralysis and how to overcome it: buff.ly/Ej5L0Em

@davidfowl That will be a great feature once it can get openapi spec urls from the project and handle versioning.

After 25 years in web development, I've concluded that CRM vendors are consistently the most expensive, slowest, and technically limiting partners in digital projects. My thoughts on why this model persists and what might finally change it: buff.ly/P8Vbfxx

What 25 years of coding has taught me about problem-solving: - First principles matter more than frameworks - Simple solutions endure - Technical problems often mask deeper issues - The human element is everything buff.ly/4hjBwNw #SoftwareDevelopment #ProblemSolving
