Around the world, consumer choice is under pressure. New rules, new bans, new limits — shaping what we buy, what we use, and how we live. But consumers deserve better. Consumer Choice Center — an independent, non-partisan global advocacy group. We champion freedom of choice, innovation, and abundance in everyday life. We use research, data, storytelling, and on-the-ground activism to make sure your voice is heard in parliaments, in the media, online, and on the streets. Across every continent, we are there where decisions are made. We empower people everywhere to speak up, stand up, and demand better. Tens of thousands of members. Dozens of campaigns. Because Your Choice is Our Fight.

Thanks @delizanickel for including my commentary in your Morning Cyber Newsletter coverage of the ongoing FISA fight! The rampant and repeated abuses of FISA have led to a crisis of trust in key agencies charged with keeping Americans safe. The time for reform is now!

Fantastic to see the WH unveiling its national framework for AI. Thousands of bills targeting AI have been introduced, many of which would create a convoluted regulatory maze for companies to navigate. If America wants to lead and WIN the AI race, we need 1 federal standard.

Europe’s climate policy should reduce emissions, not raise costs for consumers. As the EU debates changes to the Green Deal, concerns are growing that strict regulations could hurt competitiveness, drive investment away, and increase energy prices across the continent. A workable climate policy must balance environmental goals with innovation, economic reality, and consumer affordability! The idea of “banning” social media to protect kids from harm is politically potent in the Anglosphere and Europe, but it's already failing where it's tried. After 100 days of the Australian ban, we're seeing just how flawed these policies are

A U.S. congressional investigation found that the ICCPUD Alcohol Intake Study may have been influenced by anti-alcohol advocacy networks. Critics argue it promoted a “zero alcohol” approach favored by activist groups. Should public health guidelines be shaped by science, or by activism? A new analysis by Bill Wirtz explores how anti-alcohol advocacy networks may be influencing the research used to shape future U.S. dietary guidelines. By attacking the resale market, the only place where real competition exists, price caps protect the already concentrated primary ticket market. In the end, consumers face higher risks, fewer options, and more expensive tickets. 🧵

Think price caps protect fans? Fraud is actually four times lower in markets without them. Resale fraud is four times lower in the United Kingdom, where there are no price caps, than in countries that restrict resale prices. In Ireland, 14.1% of concert tickets and 10.7% of sports tickets were found to be fraudulent. ⤵️
